I have heard so much about OtterBox from several people over the years, both for iPhone & Galaxy phones. After having my iPhone 4 shatter on me, I did not want to take any chances on my iPhone 5c. I'm completely in love with this case. The fact that I was able to customize it added some brownie points, of course. I was expecting a bit of bulk & that's exactly what I got, it's not that much of a noticeable difference. It can still fit in my back jean pocket. I haven't dropped it yet & don't plan on doing it, but from seeing my friends constantly drop theirs, I'm highly confident that this case will do its job wonderfully. Thanks Otterbox!

I have 4 of these cases (purple,green,blue and white/grey) they are the best! love love them will keep buying these!
Pros: High quality, Durable, light, cute
Cons: peels fast, gets dirty

I originally wanted to get the defender case, and although it is great and has been protecting my phone thus far I wanted something less bulky. I tried the commuter case and it fits lovely in my purse, pocket and in the cup holder in my car. I love it and it still protects my phone from me. I tend to drop my phone a lot and Otterbox truly shield my phone from my clumsiness. My phone says, "Thank you Otterbox!!!"

I ordered the aqua blue shell with blaze pink slip cover on Friday afternoon and it arrived on my doorstep in Toronto on Tuesday. I absolutely LOVE the colours... Very accurate to the website pictures. As I just got it today I haven't used it enough to rate on durability but I work in a warehouse environment with concrete floors waiting for me to drop my phone... Most of my coworkers have the commuter case and have dropped it many times with no issues... I was also advised the defender is overkill and is like having a brick instead of a phone. Very impressed so far Otterbox!!!

I am currently on my second Otterbox case and while I have loved previous cases, I don't like this one.
I am careful with my phone and on occasions it does drop. Previously, this has not been an issue but for the iPhone 5S, the outer case is hard and it cracks and breaks. I will not recommend this to others but instead tell them to get a rubber/gel outer case so that they can't break like their previous model cases - iPhone 4. These had a hard shell then a rubber outer and was much better.
My first case was exchanged through warranty and the company are awesome with this. However, this time I am out of the 1st year and again it broke.

Sounds like the OtterBox Commuter took one for the team, so to speak, but better the shell cracks than your iPhone, right! You don’t need to worry about being outside the year warranty period – as long as we still have warranty stock available, we are happy to extend that timeline! Oh, and just FYI, it sounds to us like maybe you had the OtterBox Defender for your previous device, which is why you recalled the rubber being on the outside. I purchased an Otter Box several years ago to protect my company iPhone. Numerous other employees have dropped their phones and cracked their screens. I have dropped my phone 10 or more times on hard pavement and the Otter Box protected it. The bottom portion of the box where the charger plugs in is thinner and weaker, so eventually all my drops added up and that portion had cracked in a couple of places. I figured it didn't have too many drops left before that might fail entirely, so I ordered another Otter Box (I had gotten good use out of the first one). I was very happy to find that I could order just the outer plastic part of the cover at about half the price. I am a happy and satisfied Otter Box owner forever. Thanks.
