My phone has at time fallen on the floor while getting out of the car to concrete, as well as on to wooden floors, no scratches yet. or shattered screens for that matter.

Purchase otter box products for all of my electroincs that I can. And the best part is if they break all I have to do is tweet them pics and my info and boom! New one sent to my house free of charge! I have always enjoyed my Otter box cases. When I worked in landscaping, the defender was perfect for me. We had tried other brands but none of them would protect and have the same features as the Defender case. I particularly liked the belt-phone holder of this model, it worked very well. Now that most of my work is in the office and on sales calls rather than in the field, I use the commuter. I like the commuter much better because of it's small size. I didn't like the plastic guard on the Defender screen, and enjoy the absence of it on the commuter. I don't use a screen protector with my commuter and the response of just the glass is perfect. I am careful how i carry it, without keys etc. so it doesn't get scratched. the commuter does come with a screen protector if you prefer it.
Things I would like to see in the future:
* More creative colors. I currently have the lime green plastic with the dark gray vinyl and I really like that. I like that none of the colors or themes are tacky, but maybe there are some more things that would be appealing.
* Smaller, thinner size for the iPhone 5 and 5s. May not offer the protection, but would be one more line that people would prefer.
* Belt cases for the commuter and others like it. Perhaps leather that is well done as are the other Otter box products.
* The on/off button is pretty stiff on my slate gray commuter.
* I'm not sure that it's true but my son says that people cannot hear him as well when he is using his commuter as opposed to no case at all. Don't know if that is true to any extent, but mine seems to be working fine.

There have been a million companies making cases for phones for years, and your company continues to be a leader among all other options. That is very impressive. By the way, I did have a problem with the vinyl part of one of my defenders a couple of years ago and you sent me a whole new case. I appreciate that service. I rarely write reviews, I don't have the time, but I appreciate your product enough that I did want to write this one to say thank you.

Hello, I love your products and have tonnes of them for all my devices. I appreciate your service and received my plastic soft case but it does not match up with my hard protective case. They are not compatible and I have to open the part where I charge the phone "often" with a butter knife as it is impossible to pen by hand. I am worried about damaging my iPhone 5.

The white rubber turns grey around the edges.
After only a week of use the white rubber looks terrible. Cleaning is going to be a pain in the but because you will have to remove it from the phone to get it clean. Not recommended. I would go with the grey. The rest of the case and the overall design are perfect!

I purchased a Commuter series case and it cracked within a week (when I was removing it from the rubber skin). Its a great design and does a good job protecting but its difficult to attach the plastic case to the rubber skin... you almost have to force. Given the relatively high cost, I was disappointed.

I had a commuter case for my iPhone 4 and loved it. Bu I am disappointed with the commuter for my iPhone 5s. I thought they would be made with the same material. They're not. It seems Otterbox went with cheaper material. The slip cover is stiff and not as supple as the previous version. While the outer shell feels more plasticy. I counted on the exposed inner slipcover for grip but the new version is slick and the two together are hard to hold on to. Hopefully the case still protects well because it will be tested slipping out of my hand.

I have bought two of these cases and have received two more replacements because the plastic broke. It has happened over and over and I was only taking the case off of my phone or pulling it out of my back pocket. I would suggest buying another case.
