Not the best fit

I have had a number of Otterbox cases. I think this one fits the worst of all of them. The silicon seems to be to small for the phone. It doesn't fully wrap around the phone. Once I put the outer shell on the silicon over the volume buttoms bows out, it doesn't sit flush on the phone. Same with the opposite side. Also, I have to push pretty hard on the power button to get it to work.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Service and Cheap design

I have always been a fan of otterbox and their cases, but for the iPhone 5 the commuter case I was very disappointed. When I opened the case it seemed to have a cheap feel to it, not like my previous otterbox cases. The case has no texture to it except the openings making it feel and look like a thin piece of regular plastic. Also the inner shell has flaps that cover the charging port and headphone jack. The problem is that they dont stay closed and keep allowing junk to get in them. When I returned it due to being unhappy with its quality and design, otterbox took it back only after charging me for the shipping. I guess I will have to keep looking for a good quality case.

Great idea but does not fit right

The Commuter was my favorite case for my 4S so I bought another for my iPhone 5. The bottom port that covers the lightning port will not stay closed. Its due to the silicone skin being just a tad short in overall length. That's what happens when Otterbox designs a case before the phone hits the market. Also, the lock button is tough to press. As for a power user that I am, it just kills my wrist. If Otterbox was to fix those two issues, this would be a five star case. Get it right Otterbox!!!

Very Nice case

This is my first otterbox case and I'm very happy with it. It is easy to handle, durable and very attractive. I recommened it to my son and his wife when they upgraded their iphones. We are all very pleased with the quality and protection.

Worst OtterBox Case Ever Purchased (Doesn't Fit)

I am a long time Otter Box consumer. The Commuter Series cases are great when compared to the heavy Defender Series cases because they allow for better sliding in and out of your pocket and are a bit smaller around the phone. This case though, is absolutely awful. I'm not sure if research was not done well enough or what, but the case does not fit the phone. It sits awkwardly on it at best. Secondly, it takes any of the new "sleekness" of the iPhone 5 away making it feel like an absolute brick in your hand (unlike the Commuter Series cases I have for my Blackberry Bold 9650 and iPhone 4s). It is uncomfortable to hold and does not let you enjoy the new, larger screen either. What a joke of a product. In my opinion it was completely rushed and it absolutely shows.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality, does not fit

Great case

This is my third commuter case. I have had one for my htc evo, Samsung galaxy sii, now my iphone 5.
As with other otterbox cases, this case fit very well and offers superior protection. This case does come with a self adhesive screen protector that is applied dry. I for one have never had any luck with screen protectors that are dry applied. The water applied screen protectors to require a little more prep and drying, but the results are much better for me.
One minor complaint that I always have with the commuter cases is that the flap that covers the charge ports are always hard to move to access the port. They usually end up tearing off on their own, or I end up cutting it off. I would still definitely recommend this case to anyone. I look forward to giving the reflex case a try, as it looks like it does not have port covers.

Colored Rubber

This is my first Otterbox, and I love it. It fits well but is not as bulky as the Defender series.
I'm a little disappointed with the white rubber part. (I have the pink/white case). When I put it in my pocket, the rubber gets dirty so easily.
My case no longer looks new and I've only had it a week.
Cons: rubber gets dirty

I have been using the otterbox case on my iPhone 5 since mid November and it is just terrible. The iPhone itself is well protected in this case but not only is it not good looking, it cheap quality. The hard plastic casing of the two piece cracks without dropping it. From just remove the case or apply the case it cracks. It not because i dont know how to apply it. I've known quite a few people who have had this issue. I am switching over to the SPG slim armor case.
