Not at all what I expected - had to return it.

I am using the same case for the iPhone 4 - what a difference in quality for the worse! The silicone case feels more like plastic, it's too lightweight for my comfort and isn't very pliable like the previous model which felt more like rubber. I can tell without even putting it on the phone that there will be problems with the lightning cover and headset jack cover on the bottom. And in addition there is a small strip that is supposed to create the seal on the bottom face of the phone and it's so flimsy and thin I can see it breaking in a very short time. With only a 1 year warranty I wouldn't take my chances on that piece alone lasting. I'm so disappointed because I LOVE these cases - but not for the iPhone 5. Get back to me when you re-design this and get your manufacturers in line with the quality we expect from your brand. I'd gladly come back then! If it's not broken DON'T fix it.

Looks Great, but ONE problem...

Case is pricey, but looks great, ONE PROBLEM is that it's is extremely difficult to get the outer shell over the top of the phone, it's too tight. The power button on the top does not line up correctly with where the rubber cover piece is for the button. I am concerned the misalignment of the rubber knob that covers the power button is damaging the button because you have to push VERY hard to activate the button. If this problem could be solved I would give this case 5 stars, however the price is a bit too high for what it is.

Case cracked just from taking the phone out

While I liked the design of the Commuter case, in less than 1 year, there are cracks in different spots on both mine & my husband's cases (and we've never dropped our phones). Because most of our chargers are the "old" iPhone USB charging cords, we have to use the Lightening adapter. So, that means that I sometimes have to remove my phone from the case to use the adapter (mostly in the car). Repeated removal from the case resulted in several cracks. I think I just expected more longevity from OtterBox.
Pros: attractive
Cons: Not durable, doesn't have space for adapter

Will never purchase another case

I'm on my second commuter case. I put the case on Sunday/2/1/15. It's already broke in two places! I am totally getting a Lifeproof

Saving 1/100 cent with a sticker that doesn't come

the screen protector has two paper stickers to tell you what side goes down and what side goes up. Should have spent the money on one sticker that says both that comes off! Both stickers have to be scrubbed off leaving a nice scratched surface to look thru. Don't know what kind of engineering dept let that one fly

Great quality, great colors but the design is off

I love the case! I wasn't so happy with the original Commuter for the iPhone 4S. I ended up buying one for my iPhone 5 and I'm still not completely satisfied with it. The buttons are hard to push and I ended up making the sleep/wake button on my phone useless. After that, I had to cash in my warranty and get a refurbed iPhone 5. I hope the design improves...or I can no longer be your customer.

Don't trust the Commuter to protect your phone. I dropped my three month old iPhone 5 for the first time - it fell between 18 and 24 inches onto the driveway and the screen shattered instantly. The Commuter Otter Box was completely useless in protecting it.

Saved my phone!

This case was my first otterbox and I love it! It has great protection and has saved my screen from cracking. Ive dropped it in parking lots, on concrete sidewalks , and one time I even dropped it down the stairs. Needless to say because of this case my phone is still good as new. The only con I have is that the case makes it hard to press the volume buttons and lock button.
Pros: Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!
