Forgot How to design a case

Have used several Otter Box Cases in the past on iPhone 3 and 4's They were great. The iPhone 5 Commuter was not designed consistent with previous commuter cases. Too Bulky (thicker and wider than iPhone 4 case), Poor Quality, Rubber to stiff (feel and difficulty pressing lock button), Edges too sharp, Dock and Headphone covers don't stay closed. I purchased 2 commuters and 1 Defender. Defender is great, I will be returning both commuters.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality, poor design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good case

I got the Defender case in store the day I got my iPhone 5 and pre-ordered a Commuter series. I had the Defender for about 3 weeks before i got my Commuter. I definitely felt protected when I had my Defender and was skeptical about the Commuter, but I've already dropped my phone probably 9 times and the case doesn't even have a scratch. I like how much less bulky the Commuter is than the Defender. You can actually see my beautiful, white iPhone now! Also, the hard exterior allows the phone to more easily slide into pockets. The power button isn't really hard to push, it just takes getting used to. Great overall!
Pros: High quality, Durable

I have the commuter series iPhone 5 case in reelection. This case has been great to me so far! The new colors for the iPhone is what made me what to purchase this case in the first place :) reflection reminds me of a Tiffany's box! I recommend this case to anyone who is interested in it.

Average, could use some improvements

Pretty good case, the protection is good, but the build quality could definitely use some improvements.
My only major complaints with this case are:
-That the rubber covering of the lightning port does not completely shut. This might possibly be one of the most annoying things ive ever come across. Im actually considering getting a different case because this annoys me so much. If you're ocd about these things like i am, i definitely do not recommend this case.
-And the screen protector. The screen protectors otterbox provides are absolutely terrible, they use paper stickers that you basically need to scrub/scratch off which intern end up having bubbles underneath it or leave the screen protector scratched.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality

Overall this is a good case. This is my second commuter series case for my iphones. My only 2 compliants are the white case/silicone gets very dirty quick. I only had the case for a week when it started turning grey. Also the design of the port is bad. For many of us that went from 4/4s to the new 5, we have cables that required the adapter and the adapter does not work/fit with the case on. I have to remove the case so that I can use my adapter in my car.
Pros: Durable
Cons: poor port design

Very Good Case

Overall I really like this case and I have been using it about 6 months. It looks good and is comfortable to hold. It's easy to remove which cannot be said for the defenders. Know that you are getting a case designed less protective than the defender and you will be happy with what you are getting. It's not bulky and that is kind of the point.
The material is somewhat cheap (it's plastic and silicone, what do you expect), but the case does what it is expected to. It looks nice and it seems to hold up well. The fit is good. It protects the phone well while not being as big as the defender. I don't trust it like I trusted my old defender, but as long as you are reasonably conscious about what you're doing with your phone I think it is protective enough. Grit and grime could affect your speakers or silence switch if you are not careful about where you carry your phone. The charging port and the headphone jack are covered and that seems to be good enough.
Pros: Durable, looks good, feels good, size & fit

Not as good as the iphone 4S case

This case builds on the great case I had with iPhone 4S, so I expected a lot. I was disappointed. The case port covers do not stayed closed. The iPhone 5 being much thinner than the iphone 4S this case makes the iphone 4S and iphone 5 the same thickness. You would think that the case would be thinner in this particular comparison. The case back is also an issue where the sides of case near the top in old iPhone 4S case were recessed a bit to allow rubber to cover edge to make the phone more comfortable to hold. This case has thin plastic up to the edge which makes the case seem sharp while holding at times. I requested warranty service for the port covers not closing as this is an essential function to keep dust out as they advertise.
Pros: great color options
Cons: port covers do not stay closed, not comfortable to hold
