I have been an avid otterbox user from the days of the iPad 1 and iPhone 3GS. Infact the commuter series still covers my iPad 1 to this day.
The cases are truly built with protecting your product in mind, I have on the odd occasion dropped my latest pride and joy (iPhone 5) and there has been no damage at all to the phone.
The reason for 4 on the quality is that the bottom of my commuter case snapped when removing to replace with a defender series case (needed the extra protection) but with a quick email and 2 pictures later, the customer services team had a replacement to me in the UK within 1 week.
My work colleagues were impressed with my defender case and the customer support that 2 of them are now sporting them on their iPhones.
Brilliant cases and fit like a glove.

Cons: commuter series can be flimsy

Someone accidentally knocked my phone out of my bag into a puddle on the curb. I swooped in and snatched it up immediately, but that would normally be enough to spell doom for devices that are frustratingly un-waterproof. Water got past the hard shell, but not past the silicone inner shell. Disaster averted -- thank you, OtterBox. The tiny thin piece of plastic near the charging port is a bit flimsy and cracked unprovoked, but overnight OtterBox sent a replacement in the mail, no questions asked. I normally don't bother with reviews, but I'm grateful for a great company.

I had this same model case for my iphone 4. I put it on the day I bought the phone and it didn't come off for 2 yrs. It had its fair share of bumps & drops, but when I upgraded to the iphone 5s my iphone 4 looked brand new. I love this new case even better. Rubber insert seems more sturdy than previous one. This case is great! We also have the defender cases for an iPad and iPad mini. They have saved our iPads on more than one occasion. My son left his iPad mini outside by mistake at home... Found it the next morning...it would have been ruined with out it!

I purchased the white slipcover to match my new white iPhone 5s face. It's durable and provides good protection, but it gets dirty very quickly just from hand oils. On top of that, it's difficult to wipe clean.

I like the hard outer cover. It allows you to slide your phone in and out of you pocket easly as the jel one on my previous phone did not and I didn't like that
