The case looks very nice but I had 3 problems with it. First; was the flaps on the bottom that cover the ports, they don't quite stay closed over the ports. The second; is the screen protector, it didn't give much direction on how to put it on, didn't want to stay put, and the stickers that were on it left a sticky residue. I ended up taking it off very soon after putting it on. Lastly; was the outer case didn't quite fit over the inner case.
I was disappointed with it for the amount of money I spent on it.

Great Case

I purchased this case after life proof had failed me. This case has saved my phone. I haven't had a broken phone since I bought the case back in February and I went through four phones in 6 months before that. It is missing a corner on my case from a fall but better the case than my phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My iPhone 3GS lived in an Otterbox Commuter for more than three years. In that time, the silicone plug covering the audio jack eventually tore off (after at least two years), but I used it all the time, so no complaint there.
The fit and finish of that case was perfect. The outer shell matched the lines of the silicone sleeve perfectly and the end result looked like it had been hand-fitted around the phone.
Sadly, this is not the case with my new iPhone 5S. I'm satisfied that this new Commuter case is just as rugged and will protect my phone just as well as the old one, but there are problems with the fit and finish being caused, I believe, by the silicone sleeve, which appears to be perhaps 0.05mm too long across the bottom. As a result, the bottom corners bulge out, which, in turn, forces the side panels of the outer shell away from the phone and leaves a bit of a gap. It's not a big deal as a matter of function, but less than what I expected from OtterBox as a repeat user of their products.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Low quality

Great iPhone Case

Very happy with my new custom Defender for iPhone 5. Defender does its job well and getting to pick my case colors was great. Bought this as a result of my positive
experience with Defender for old iPhone 4.

I have been purchasing OtterBox's for my iPhone's for 6 years now. People are amazed when I throw my phone across a room to show them the durability of this product. I have never had a cracked screen on any of my phones. In my opinion go for the Commuter Series as it is more slimline and is less likley to break over time. Stay away from the defender. I have just purchased 2 more Commuter cases for the two new iPhones I just ordered.
Yes the screen protector may peel over time from contacting the rubber on the sides however I replace my screen protectors regularly so it's no biggie for me. Besides almost all of my friends screen protectors peel off over time no matter the brand of cover - dirt gets in and the peeling starts.
Pros: High quality, Durable, shock resistant
Cons: pealing of the screen protector.

A must have for an Iphone

I did not have a case on my phone and the first time it was knocked off a desk, the screen shattered when it fell on a tile floor. On my replacement phone I made sure I had it protected with an Otterbox. It has gotten accidently dropped or knocked off a desk about every month or so for a little over a year; however, the Otterbox has fully protected the phone and it has sustained no damage. I cannot be without a phone for work and the Otterbox has ensured that my phone will be protected from that accidental drop. The Iphone is easily susceptible to a shattered screen if dropped and an Otterbox case is a must have accessory for the phone.
