Owned a samsung note 4 prior, happy with the operating system, not happy with the battery life, have to charge in the middle of the day, compared to the note 4 charged every 2 days with the same amount of use.
The Galaxy s6 is a very respectable flagship device. The screen is amazing with its 1440p display and colors are very vivid. The screen even looks good in bright light. The camera is amazing. The pictures are incredibly clear and true to life. The only down sides of the Galaxy S6 are the battery life and signal strength. I typically only get about 6 hours of battery life on a charge, however, charging using the wired charger can restore the battery to 100% in about an hour. Also, there seems to be a slight decrease in signal strength compared to previous generations. Overall, this is a very respectable phone and is well worth the price.
Phone goes into a reboot cycle while trying to update the software. Lost all data after I wipe the device to factory reset, and didn't resolve the issue.
Pros: picture quality
Cons: Did not meet expectations, unstable os
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Galaxy S6 looks like a great phone, but I've had nothing but problems! Just a couple of days after making the switch from an iPhone 5c, I really started to notice how short the battery life was (charging 2 times per day as opposed to just at night with my iphone). Very inconvenient but not the end of the world.
Then the real problems started. Apps would not download and would often force close. After two calls to customer service, and my phone being remoted into, I was finally able to download apps again.
Also, there are a ton of preloaded apps on here that I don't use so I disabled them. However, every day or so, they automatically update again slowing down my phone & draining the already pitiful battery. So I called customer service again. Although very friendly, I had already done everything he suggested & he noticed the rapid battery drain during game our conversationso he sent me a replacement.
When the replacement came, I was able to transfer over all my contacts, photos, & videos, but the screen keeps freezing & has to be restarted to be able to be used as well as the top left corner of the screen being completely unresponsive to touch. Yes the battery life still stinks.
Finally I complained to my carrier, but since the buyer's remorse period has passed, I'm stuck with this piece of junk for two years or until I can pay the $580 I owe on this phone.
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, very short battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have not had very long so still learning about it and all that it does but I love it so far. I am definitely a galaxy person, I have had them all and Samsung is the way to go.
I upgraded from my s3 mini to the s6 and I am thrilled with it so far. The battery life has been wonderful and I am still figuring out what all the features do but I am loving it
