works ok, frustrating end of life

It seems shortly after installation the printer tells you to order another cartridge.
Unlike most other products on the market that let you know subtlety that end of life is near. The micro chip counts pages and shuts off when it thinks it is exhausted not when you think the print quality has degraded. It always seems to do this at the wrong time. Some one else is using the printer, or on an important project.
