If you have decided that a full frame camera is out there somewhere with your name it. You're looking at what's available and weighing it against your budget and see the cost of full frame isn't cheap. Buy the 6d, you won't regret it. The images are fantastic! The video is, well who cares, if you want video buy a video camera. The GPS is, who cares, I'd rather have touch-screen. The WiFi is limited to phone geeks and is not going to dump your images onto your laptop. Message to Canon: I would gladly forfeit video, GPS, and WiFi for additional resources devoted to images and camera operation. Touch-screen, more cross-type focus points, dual SD slots, and stuff like that.

Been a photographer since 1970. Got away from it for a while. In 2004 while visiting the Grand Canyon the bug bit me hard. Since '04 I've had 5 Canon DSLRs, plus a G10 and a G12. The full frame 6D is buy far the best yet. Great low light capability. Every time I use it I'm a little more amazed than the last time. I have five canon lenses and three flashes. All work perfectly together. After 40 years I finally found the one I've been waiting for . Full frame or nothing !!!
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, easy to use

Great camera just lacking a few key features

I've been shooting canon my whole life. Shot with a 1dsmkii for years. Bought the canon 6D after I had a Sony junk on me. In my opinion it's one of the best cameras money can buy. But it lacks a few key features. A more advanced AF system. I mean 9 points really? I feel like I'm shooting with a t5. Also continuous AF in video. I would've gladly paid 200-400 more to get at least 12-15 af points and continuous AF in video. Now for the good stuff. Low light; fantastic performance. Overall picture quality and color rendering, absolutely mind numbingly good. But be warned, this is not a fast camera. Do not buy with the intentions of shooting sports or fast paced objects. This is no speed demon. But if your subjects are mostly static or you are into doing portraits/weddings by all means it's fantastic. I also tend to lean more towards it because I shot film for years and even though it's very primitive in features, it really brings you back home if you are used to shooting film.

Outstanding in Everything that Really Counts

This camera is outstanding in all of the features that really count. I am an advanced amateur enthusiast primarily using the 6D for landscape, travel and portrait photography. For those purposes you can't ask for anything more. Image quality is fantastic. This was an upgrade for me from a 50D. I was waiting for the rumored 7D Mark II when the 6D came along. I'm sure glad it did. Having used the 6D for several months I much prefer the full frame over the APS-C sensor. The low noise at low light with higher ISO's that a full frame gives is well worth the price. Another really nice feature of the 6D is the ability to bracket 3, 5 or 7 shots for HDR. Coming from a 50D (and a 20D before that) the menu system was a breeze - no real learning curve at all.
It is true that this camera is somewhat "lacking" in features compared to the 7D or 5D Mark III. But the question I asked myself is would I really avail myself of those features, and the answer was "no." The auto focus is more than adequate and, with the possible exception of a built-in flash, this camera does everything needed for the type of photography I do. As a practical matter, the only time I ever used the built in flash on my 50D was for a little bit of fill light in outdoor portraits. It's really not that big an issue not to have it.
The Wi-Fi / iPhone app is exceptionally easy to use. It's great for long exposures - since it uses live view you don't have to worry about mirror shake or stray light coming in the view finder. I can get about 40-50 feet away from the camera and still have a connection as long as I'm not inside a building. There are some features I'd like to see in the iPhone app, principally a built in timer for long bulb exposures. But all in all, it functions really well, as does the GPS.
I have not had an issue with battery life. I keep the GPS on but the GPS tracker off, and only turn on the WiFi when in use. I've gone 7+ hours shooting 250+ images and still have battery life left.
Make no mistake, this is NOT the right camera if you're primarily into action or sports photography. If that's your forte you need the 7D with its extra auto focus points, higher fps and the "enhanced" telephoto range the APS-C crop factor gives you. But for landscape, travel and portrait, you can't go wrong.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, iphone app, 3 5 & 7 image bracketing for hdr
Cons: no built-in flash

Nice upgrade from T3

I upgraded to the 6D from an EOS Rebel T3 and the difference is huge. Full frame sensor means my wide angle lens actually produces an image with tons more information and coverage area. The 6D also does much better in low light.
Built in GPS is a huge time saver, I used to tag my GPS via Eye-Fi card witch worked but not always. Eye-Fi card is not accurate at all because it only uses wifi and has no real GPS.
Also the transfer rates are much better on the 6D, I can hold down the shutter button and take burst of fast action shots without it pausing to save the date like my T3 would do after 4-5 shots (Shooting RAW + JPEG).
The shutter sound is quieter and I actually really like the sound it makes compared to my T3. However I don't detect much difference when you put it in quiet mode. The reviews said it was next to silent, but mine is not that quiet.
GPS is constantly displayed on the LCD, not sure if gps is constantly draining the battery while the camera is off, but the top LED is always on showing GPS and if its got signal or not. This could be a bug that gets updated.
TIP: set the GPS to update less frequently to save battery. I really only need the genteral area a photo was take, not the exact pinpointed spot so I set it to update only once a minute.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life
