new features to die for

got my new 6d on 12/03/12 was nervous since I read a few bad reviews (after I placed my order) to nervously I go to the UPS terminal for pickup and am proud to say I am more than pleased with min. the first shoot was a child's Christmas Play in one of those dreadful dark hall rooms that schools have..I shot 1600 iso with canon 85mm 1.8 using about 2.0 and these are tac sharp and my questions is "where did the noise go?" can't answer that, except the noise control in low light and really improved from my Mark 2 even. being able to hook up with your own phone and even do card review is amazing...but to control the shoot on a stationed camera from your seat? That, and being able to email a fav shot from right there is a most pleasant surprise...and throw in GPS? I'm as ok with the camera as I can be... I rated it 4's because I could have used more top speed, 4000 sec and another card slot, even same type, would have been icing on the cake...but that's the only 2 stones I will toss..
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: top shutter speed is 4000th sec, needs another card slot

Love it. Great camera at a great price. I've always used prosumer cameras for my work. This is by far the best prosumer camera you can buy for the money. All the features minus the cost.

First impressions after 1 day:
Very solid camera, easy to handle. Buttons could be more precise. Lightweight compared to previous Canon DSLR but fits very good in your hand. Rubber upper wheel - very easy to work with. LCD Screen excellent. AF works very good, better than 5DII fast and precise. WiFi works fine with iPhoto on MAC (but no movies when WiFi on). GPS good but eats batteries. Only accepts Canon branded batteries.
Pic quality so far EXCELLENT, especially in low light. Have only used it with L-series lenses and there AF is VERY fast.
Canons superior menu system, good for both PRO:s and us other.
Depth-of-field-button a bit hard to reach.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life

This is a great camera

I am very enthusiastic about this camera. It was bought after carefully considering the 5DMkII and 5DMkIII. After looking at each camera this was by far the best choice. I am delighted with the camera both in the field and in the studio. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering getting a camera as a replacement or as the first digital camera. Some folks say it isn't a "professional" quality camera. If you're depending on the camera to make you a "professional", or do professional quality work, then you need to get some training and some skills. I would recommend getting the external battery holder.
Pros: quiet, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Best Canon camera I've owned

My Canon 6D is the fourth Canon camera and the best one I've owned. I photograph insects and need to see detail and the 6D combined with my MPE-65 Canon lens delivers. The full frame allows a little more depth of field than the crop sensors. The great IQ at high ISO's is mind blowing.

Waited a long time for this camera

I’ve been waiting for a semi-professional camera body with built in GPS. Traveling around the U.S. it is difficult to recall exactly where any particular photo was taken. This camera does it automatically. There are more features I will be exploring over the next several months, i.e., WI-FI capability. As I use only “L” lenses (HINT: without quality glass, it doesn't matter which camera body one uses), there are no arguments with the picture quality. I only shoot large RAW format, but when I have the prints made, the JPEG files are bigger (average 6-8 MB), which allows for a larger quality print size. If you’re looking for a camera body which is flexible for landscape as well as portraits AND ‘relatively’ inexpensive, I would have no hesitation to recommend this camera body. While I will use this as my main camera body, eventually I will add the 5ds body for wedding & portraits due to the larger sensor size.

I just bout this a few days ago, and did my first model shoot. Perfect, Not one problem, and the feel/handling was great. If you want a full sensor and do not wantg to spenad a lot of money - this is the way to go.

Great image quality, many interesting features, quiet shutter.
In my opinion it should be able to save hdr in raw also, doesn't make sense to have it only for jpeg. Moreover please make possible to set the hdr setting using C1 or C2.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings
