Fantastic first time DSLR

If you are in the market for your first DSLR I can't recommend this camera enough. The picture quality relative to the price is just outstanding.
The only thing I could wish for is a faster fps for the day when I try to photograph live amateur sports but you can still do so with this model.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Most responsive focus ever

I experminted shooting the Canadian Rockies with my 6D camera while moving 90km (60 mph) because of the few pull outs along the highway and being illegal to pull off the road. My only choice was to have my wife drive while I shot out the car window because I wanted to capture all the beauty the Rockies were displaying and it was my only chance. Upon reviewing my images I was suprised at the sharpness, clarity without blurr my images turned out and when I displayed my prints to friends they could not believe the results I got. Thanks for a great product.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, sharp rapid focus, easy to learn adavantages

Great Camera for the Enthusiast

This is such a great camera and I have zero regrets! I consider myself an enthusiast and understand the concepts and tenets of photography, but often simply like to just select the Green setting as opposed to setting Aperture and Shutter for myself, especially for those happy snaps that help us preserve those fun memories. My equipment has included an older cropped DSLR which really lacks the resolution and performance of much newer cameras and a Canon G7, which I like quite a bit and have been very pleased with as a carry around camera, but which struggles to separate subject from background. As the saying goes, there is no substitute for a big piece of glass in front of a big sensor. I have the 'kit' 24-105 f/4L lens and added a 430EX II flash, which I feel feature-wise complements the 6D perfectly. The results are spectacular. Color rendition is very accurate and the detail resolution is fantastic. Even limited to f/4, subject separation is very nice and the bokeh is quite pleasing. Basic flash photography is easy with great results. The WiFi feature coupled with the smartphone app, which was a big selling point for me, does exactly what I want it to. Yes, you cannot transfer full res images to your smartphone, but why would you want to? I just want to email, text, or share via social media, and don't want full res images for that. Full res is for my laptop. Build quality is great and it is relative light. Yes, I would like a more advanced auto focus system, but thus far the auto focus has done a competent job, albeit struggling a little with fast moving subjects. But, overall, I could not be more pleased. I am really looking forward to capturing many beautiful photos with this setup and can't wait to add some primes. Buy one!

Overall excellent

I've been using the 6D for about 8 months now for both professional and casual photography. Overall it is excellent, and I would recommend it. However, it does have a problem with achieving auto focus sometimes. I generally us a Canon EF 24-105 L series lens on it and in many circumstances the focus will jump back and forth even in well defined subjects and will not focus. The only solution I've found is to only use the central focus point, since using the full 11-point array causes the problem. It will then auto focus, but this certainly limits the potential of the camera.
Pros: outanding high iso quality
Cons: problem with auto focus

Great Camera

The Canon 6D surprised me in just how good it is. It has especially good low light performance and the noise can be handled up to at least 6400 ISO. While the camera is probably best for landscapes and portraits, it can be used in wildlife and nature. The shutter speed means it is not that great for say birds in flight, but normally 100% of the shots will be in focus and you can use a high ISO to maintain shutter speed without introducing too much noise. A 7D is certainly much faster, but in low light focus will often be missed and there will be noticeably more noise at high ISOs.
Do I have complaints about the camera, no not for the use I have for it. That said though jpeg only for some features would bother me if I used those features;
In closure, if you want a quality full frame camera and either cannot afford or do not wish to spend the bucks for a 5D MIII the 6D is an excellent choice. In my opinion the camera is better than a 5D MII

Cons: manual not for the nearsighted., manual needs to be book size.

Solid build, good lowlight

I have had this camera for five years. I take people and landscape photos. File size is big but using photoshop to edit works just fine. I have biggish hands and this camera fits well. My prime lens is the 24-105 L series and it works much better with the Canon 6D than a 4/3rds camera like the 60D.

Amazing Image Quality

The Canon EOS 6D is a superb camera with excellent image quality. I've also used this camera for shooting video and the results are also excellent. Great value and awesome image quality when shooting in high ISO. The camera also has WIFI and a weather sealed body
