Great Imaging with Full-Frame Feature

I bought the camera because of its GPS/WiFi and Full-frame features, but I was pleasantly surprised with the camera's ease of use in producing high quality images I previously was unable to obtain with my other Canon DSLR cameras.

Upgraded from a 60d and I am very satisfied. This camera feels great in my hands, nice and solid. I read other reviews with people complaining about the single card slot but, it's not that hard to flip the little door one and insert another card and use high capacity cards. The wifi feature is cool but, I wish there was an EOS remote app available for my iPad. It woulds also be nice to shoot video with the wifi enabled.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: no ipad app

Affordable Full Frame

I struggled a long time before upgrading from the T3i to the 6D. Was it really worth the money? Concise answer : YES!
Couldn't be happier. I feel like I stepped onto a new level of amateur photography. An affordable, full frame, well made Canon is great!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Superior build quality

Love it!

I recently upgraded from a 7D to a 6D and I'm so glad I did. I was blown away by the image quality and the low light shots that came out great. I have read about others' concerns that there's limited numbers of AF points but since I shoot mostly stills I stick to the center point and it hasn't failed me as yet. There is one issue that I don't care for. My 7D had a button on the top for accessing the white balance adjustment, the 6D does not, which makes it a little harder to access the adjustment. Maybe some day they will come up with a firmware upgrade which will allow us to customize the buttons to provide this option.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings

Good camera for stills, meh for video
on January 3, 2013

So I got this camera to replace my crop sensor. Don't get me wrong this camera is great but the problem I have with it is the moire with video and the basic auto focusing system. The auto focus system just feels like it could be more, instead they put this so they could upsell the mark III. The moire is so much that it really bugs me. I do this semi professionally and the stills are amazing but the video, while still useable it isn't the best. I hope that Canon can fix the problem a little with a firmware update. Overall the video is the only problem. It is well built, light, and so fun to use. Once the video is fixed, it will be the best "budget" camera.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: video quality

What you pay is what you get! Or no?

PICTURE QUALITY – The full frame sensor is not hype – all your EF lenses are getting wider and TS-E lenses are working perfectly, the night/high ISO is beyond expectations! This portion is AWESOME! The image quality is great overall. As this is the selling point over crop sensor – is it something that will make you spend hundreds of dollars more?
SHOOTING – 4.5 fps feels tirelessly s…l..o…w… FOCUSING – mostly using the central point only, however nice to have the choice of different focusing points for horizontal and both vertical shooting 
BUILD QUALITY – Well a little better than 60D, but lower quality than 40D/50D, but better than Rebel. Sorry compared to 40D it feels cheaper.
NAVIGATION/USAGE – Unfortunately Canon decided to move buttons around yet again, so if you plan to use both 6D and 60D side-by side, it’s a MAJOR user confusion (DELETE is now in place of REVIEW, that has replaced INFO and since a new ZOOM dedicated button was introduced, it has replaced MENU). The new image review - not a big fan of it, not sure why they decided to follow the 5D III image review buttons and have not kept the 5D II/40D/50D/60D layout – perhaps less thumb movement? The Multi-Controller should have been made bigger.
DISPLAY – Great, very bright even on sunlight…
WIFI – Great potential, just stunning to use tablet for remote shooting or download photos over WiFi to your computer. Hope Canon will continue in enhancing the “EOS Remote” software (e.g. adding a timer function) and user friendliness of the overall experience setting-up and re-connecting – both in camera and on computer/tablet. Sometimes very confusing - need to read manual...
RAW – Canon has made a change in 6D RAW format, so you need to get the latest DPP in order to develop your images.
SOFTWARE – DPP is crashing more than it was in the past. But nothing new here...
MISC – Turning on the ALO automatically turns off HPT and vice versa, great – one less step!
MENUS– clattered, full of staff that can be in a second level menu – like how many time are you setting Beep, Release shutter without card, Image review time, or setting Dust Delete Data? And the list goes on… I’d rather have TWO custom menus…
Pros: good battery life, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Poor build quality, Complicated controls/menu

Wonderful Camera

This camera was an upgrade from the 40D and the difference is astounding. Image quality is exceptional. Having migrated to digital from large format for all my serious photography I found the 40D somewhat limited. In contrast, images captured with the 6D are wonderful and a suitable replacement for large format.
I like the way the menu is set up and it is fairly easy to use.
With the exception of sports photography where I use auto focus and auto exposure, I generally use manual settings for most of my work. The spot meter is accurate and I find manual focus overcomes the limitation that autofocus can be confused by complex images.
The ISO range is unbelievable. Night time images can be captured without a tripod, you just get high ISO background that you need to remove in subsequent processing. Tripod shots with a remote are easy to set up as well.
All in all, this is a remarkable camera at a reasonable price.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, easy to use

Middle of the Road on everything
on September 15, 2016

I've been using it for Indoor Sports. The number of focus points is highly limited. I rely mostly on the center dot in low light and it performs well. However, it is a primitive focusing system when compared to the 5D. It is lighter than the 5D which I appreciate, but in hindsight - knowing what I know now after using it for several years - I regret not purchasing the 5D III. There is no way I would buy a 6D II when (if) it arrives in 2017. The 5D III (discounted) or the 5D IV is the way to go. If you buy middle of the road then you will be stuck in the middle of the road -- always lacking something.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
