Fine Economy Full Frame Camera

I own a Canon 5D Mk III. We were going to Costa Rica so I let my wife use it. She is into bird photography. She liked it so much she wouldn't give it back ,but she had given me a 7D MK ll for Christmas and used that.
It in dark in the forest there and the 5D MK lll outperforms the 7D mk II in low light. Also I had not discovered back button focusing where you divorce you focusing from framing the picture. This is the key to making the 7D a superb action camera..
We were going to Yellowstone so,I bought 6D incase my 7D was not good enough. The 6D was a natural, delivers great low light pictures,is simpler and easier to use than any other full frame,or the 7D. It works like a souped up version of the Canon Rebel and is lighter, simpler and much more economical than any other full frame. The mode button did fall off as many people says it will.
Since I discovered back button focusing I use the powerful center focus for focusing on the 6D and then frame the picture at my leisure before pushing the shutter button. This same technique ,tamed the highly complex 7D mk II,so that now I can use all the focusing points.

Way more capable than imagined

I was given the opportunity to shoot some races this weekend for the Pirelli World Challenge and brought the 6D along with my 7Dmk2. The 6D had absolutely no issue keeping focus on the fast race cars, even with panning and zooming. The battery lasted me the whole weekend and several thousand photos without needing to recharge it. I did have to recharge my 7D's battery once, so it was nice to only need to charge one battery. The images came out extremely well and it did every very taxing thing I asked of it. With a very fast card I only hit the buffer once and it cleared fairly quickly. I didn't lose any shots due to buffer. I've also used the camera for birds and wildlife and it performed very well there too. It is way more capable than I originally imagined and have read about. The wifi also worked well which was very handy for sharing images. I would highly recommend this camera. If you're worried about it being capable enough, worry no more. Even on a sunny day shooting wide open at 2.8, I was able to drop the ISO to 50 and keep shooting wide open even with the white cars. Couldn't be happier with the camera.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great camera for the price.

I had owned a couple canon DSLR cameras over the years. A 10D, and a 5D Mk II, and then after some troubling times I sold all my camera equipment. Another year later, things were looking up, and I was able to get the 6D with the Kit 24-105 f4 L Lens.
The layout of the 6D controls I feel are much improved over the 5D mk II. Seems to be very smooth and natural, moving through the menus and functions. The WiFi is nice also, because you can use your smartphone as a shutter release, to help rid camera shake and/or for Bulb mode.
Shutter speed. It only goes to 1/4000. It's ample for what I shoot, but depending on your needs, be aware there is no 1/8000 available.
ISO performance. I actually seem to get very decent results up to 1600 on the focused subject, but 640+ does get some noise outside of the focused area and dark regions, while anything beyond 3200 is basically a matter of "do you absolutely need this shot with this shutter speed?".
The Dynamic Range seems much better than my past cameras, as I don't deal with nearly as much Blowout/Black Crush as I used to on the 5D II. I can't speak for how it rates vs the 5D III, but it has a noticeably better range than the II.
Video Mode. I have only toyed with this briefly, but if you wish to have decently usable sound, get an external mic, the built in one is pretty poor. The video itself was decent though, although I have read that this camera's video mode was more prone to artifacts than the 5D series. If you plan on using video a lot, that may be a deciding factor for you.
The price of the camera makes it a good full-frame bargain, and if you are more interested in photo mode than video mode, I would say "go for it" with no fear of being disappointed. The kit lens is ok, but it wouldn't have been my choice if I went Body Only.

Awesome camera

Got this to upgrade from my 20D, wow has Canon come a long way in 8 years! I love this camera!
Build quality is excellent. Very quiet shutter & accurate AF. The top section is plastic, assuming because of the wifi & gps signals need to get through. Awesome to be able to have location metadata built in.
Takes amazing images, the low light performance is astounding, VERY LITTLE noise at ISO 12,800 and under. Battery life isn't as long as my 20D, although it's doing a heck of a lot more for me though. Worth it to have such an awesome display in the back!
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Short battery life

Blew Me Away

I purchased my Canon 6D just 3 weeks ago to replace my main camera, the Canon 5D. This camera is not just an incremental upgrade but a generational improvement!
I love everything about this camera. Its menus are easy to use, the quality is unbelievably high and the features are outstanding. OK, so its not fast enough for sports photogs. Buy a different camera.
What has really blown me away is the image quality AND the Wifi connectivity options. I do plenty of astro-photography and this is the cats meow.
Buy it now while you have a chance.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: fps is not for sport photogs.

I got the camera when it first came out. I'm coming from the 60d to now the 6d full frame camera and I have to say I love it. I have shot 2 weddings and also shot some music videos with it. I have to say shooting in low light is a dream with the camera. I still use my 60d as a back up but i dont use it much..
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I have tried multiple cameras as a professional photographer including Weddings, Family Portraits, Night Sky, landscape and I must say that Im impressed with the quality of this product. Way cheaper than buying a 5d mkiii if you are on a budget, amazing colors, solid body. Focusing system is not a good as the mk iii but honestly the center focus is amazingly precise and amazing at low light with good ISO performance as well.
In my opinion its way better than the mk ii.

6D is a winner

I love my 7D and it basically taught me photography. However, I could never really get the detail I desired, even with Canon's best lenses; 100mm L Macro, 24-70mm L, etc. I wanted to upgrade to full frame and when the 6D came out last year, I jumped at the chance. I've never looked back and my photos have never looked better, especially 100% crops. I have also enjoyed the GPS function and though annoying to configure, the wireless option.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: no internal flash
