Excellent Value

Bought the 6d as a upgrade to my 60d. The camera's controls, weight and feel are very similar to the 60d. I'm impressed with the low noise in high ISO situations.
Many have complained about the AF issue. I have not had any problems.
Is this a perfect camera? No, there is no such thing, but it is a very good camera. You just need to determine what type of photos you'll be taking
Pros: quiet, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

LOVE this camera!

This is my fourth Canon SLR. Started with Canon in film and stayed with them into digital. I started with a Rebel (since converted to in fared) and moved up to a 7D a few years ago. The 7D - on paper - had all the bells and whistles I was looking for, but somehow I just never really developed a relationship with it. I'd considered moving down to the 60D but held on and my wishes were granted. The 6D is everything I'd hoped for and more. I absolutely love this camera. Yes - it doesn't have the same burst rate, but as a landscape photographer - I don't care! It SO makes up for the everything I didn't like about the 7D…though I do miss not being able to use my EfS lenses…this is a purchase I will never regret.
Pros: everything
Cons: gps is a battery suck

I received my second Full Frame Canon camera recently since I do not change lens in the field and wanted a back up camera for the 70-200IS Mk II lens. The 6D is a great camera and gives me the flexibility of having a backup camera to the 5D MKIII. I can use either camera in complete confidence when I want a different lens with a longer range. Both have extra clear pictures and either can take HD video. I like the features and the feel of the 6D since it is lighter than the 5D and the pictures are excellent and they compare very closely to the quality of the 5D.
I would recommend this camera to anyone wanting a Full Frame camera. It has plenty of features and it is very easy to use.
I was surprised that the 6D HDR mode does not include the three pictures that make up the composite picture. The 5D gives me all three of the pictures plus the composite picture. You can edit those with software if you wanted to create an HDR file with your choice of details. picture.
.
Pros: quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, great value

Excellent full frame DSLR on a budget

I've owned my EOS 6D for over four months now, and I've taken it with me pretty much everywhere. I'm not a pro, but I use the heck out of my cameras.
I also have an EOS Rebel T3i, which I still use, but I wanted the 6D for its better low light capabilities and full frame sensor. The T3i feels almost like a toy in my hands, but the 6D feels just right. Just the right amount of weight, the right size to carry comfortably.
I got the EF 24-105 f/4L lens along with my 6D, and I think the two of them are just about the most perfect combination of camera and lens. Sure, I sometimes wish for a bit more wide angle for a shot, or a bit more zoom for a far away shot, but all in all, these two are just right.
The only real things I would like to see changed on the 6D are the shutter speed (yes, sometimes 1/4000th of a second is too slow!), and I would like the view finder to be 100%, instead of 97%. That's it!
Great camera, thanks Canon!
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Love My 6D!

This is the greatest camera I've ever owned! I'm 63 yrs old. I still have my old, original Canon F1 I bought in Japan in the 70s. I've had many cameras, and a number of Canon digital cameras. I have a 2yr degree in photography. And.....I LOVE this camera. It does everything I want and more. The photos from it are stunning. The colors and resolution are outstanding. This is my first full frame digital and I could not be more impressed. I might even prefer this to the 5D for ergonomic reasons. The build quality is extremely high. I bought mine refurbished from the Canon web site and have been very impressed. It looked brand new. It could have been sold for brand new. Thanks Canon!

Great low light camera
on February 9, 2015

I've had this camera for about 8 months. It replaced a Canon 7D that was excellent. This new camera blows the 7D away for any low light photography. The jpeg photos are very usable all the way to 51K ISO and outstanding at 12K ISO.
I tend to shoot vacation and family photos often involving indoor settings. The great cathedrals in Europe often do not allow flash photography and the 6Ds low light capability produces stunning photos, while minimizing camera shake.
If you are a sports photographer shooting with lots of light, the comparably priced new Canon 7D Mk 2 is a good choice. It shoots much faster and has a larger focusing area. As I am "old school" I leverage the 6Ds center focus point which can focus in -3EV and recompose before shooting. I find this gives me extremely accurate and reliable focus results. With fast motion photography, this method is difficult to execute.
In closing, this camera with the 24-105mm L lens makes a top tier travel camera.

You know, I really love this camera.
Image quality is the best Canon has (pending the new 5Ds next summer). IQ is somewhat better than even the 5DIII.
It could lock on quicker for sports, and if you're primarily into shooting rapid action, you'd best go for the 5DIII, or 5D4 when it comes out next year. And, rather than having to buy an ef 8-15 or ef 11-24mm for panoramic shots I wish it had a panorama function like my iPhone6+. But, if you're into slower stuff, landscape, portraits, etc. This is just a great camera, and the Canon EF lenses and selected lenses from 3rd party manufacturers work very well with it. Would buy it again, absolutely no doubt about it.
