WF-3520 - One year later

I have been using my WF-3520 regularly for a year now, for printing and scanning, and couldn't be happier with it. It's used wirelessly by all members of my household, as well as visiting guests. I print web pages, correspondence and photos; all look great. Setup was issue free and it has consistently performed reliably.

Not Happy

For all the hype this machine gives it's self, in my opinion, it falls way short. Cons - Rear paper feed does not work. Paper is not fed consistently-photos/forms are cut off. High Quality printing is NOT if printing photos. DVD set up did not register the printer. Got several warning notes that printer was not registered with Epson. Pros- Easy to install, Fast printer warm up

Major prob; printing Bus.Cards; Have many to print for customers. Printed 1st one just fine - from then on no matter which card I chose to print, system only printed the 1st one. Been printing bus.Cards for years - 1st Epson printer; never had this problem before. Have tried to reach HELP via phone they can't talk to me; Now that makes me happy; sent via net - no reply. If this is the way they work, thank God I saved packing, because it is going back to store. Very disappointed right now.

Installation

Setup was straightforward and uncomplicated exept for the use of the cable to set up the wireless network. There was a great deal of confusion of the type of cable required. The setup instructions specified a "USB cable", but the plug type was not specified. My cable from the old printer had a USB plug on one end plugged into the computer; the other end was a square plug with two corners clipped off. (That's as best as I can describe it) This did not work, I had to use the printer's display to enter the password for the network.
Epson should describe and possibly illustrate the cable needed to complete the WIFI connection in the setup guide.
With that exeption, the operation so far for the WF 3520 appears to be excellent.

Excellent Choice in Many Ways

I'm over 60 and never had any formal training related to computer operations, especially on hooking up a printer. Within 15 minutes I had it up and running! The instructions were crystal clear and written so a dummy like me could perform a miracle like this correctly the very first time. As far as operations, even the big copier/printer at the office doesn't print as fast or as well as this unit. Everything EPSON advertised that it would do is true but they didn't tell you how easy it is to set up and operate. No, I don't work for the company because this review is so positive. I'm just an old guy who is a satisfied customer!

Bad for pictures

Big and bulky. Produces bad pictures. Even on highest quality settings, pictures have stripes where the computer can't get the color quality consistent. Great for B&W -- very fast and high quality -- that's what gets it 2 stars in my mind.

Had to Return
on February 20, 2014

The installation process was quick and easy. The first problem I found was that the email print would not work with Outlook 2013. My Outlook was corrupted and I could not use it. I had to reinstall Outlook. I deleted the web print program. I tested the printer by trying to print multiple page reports; from two different programs. Both time the printer printed a few pages and then stopped with an error. The error trouble shooting steps were useless. So I packed up every thing to return it.

When it works it works well. Many time it states there is a paper jam when there is no paper jam.
It takes many many times to clear it and many times it will not clear.
