Appears to be a Ink Pit?
on December 18, 2014

I have had this unit almost a month and have used it maybe 4 times max for b&w documents no more than 3 pages each. Unit states now that black ink needed. This unit came with a b&w xl cartridge? There appears to be some ink left in the cartridge, but unlike older Epsons I cannot get this unit to force print. Once it thinks you are out of ink, it does not allow printing. I do not print on max settings either. Extremely disappointed, upon switching out black cartridge it appears to have right much ink left. What a waste??

Would never recommend

I would not recommend this printer to anyone. It is difficult to use. Won't scan to computer using wireless network as promised. Just changed my black ink cartridge and now it won't work at all. Read similar complaints on line and yet Epson has done nothing to improve this problem. I will be out purchasing a new printer but you can bet it won't be an Epson.

Great Printer

I have had my printer for 4 months now. I did not have any problems with set-up, just followed the directions for wireless. I was reluctant to buy an EPSON at first, the older printers had issues of the print heads needing to be flushed if not printing color photos every day. EPSON has fixed this issue.
The photo printing meets my expections of Epson, the best.

Why I did not give the printer a 5-star rateing.
The reason I did not give the printer a 5-star rateing is because when the "2-sided auto" print option is slected all pages are fed through the printer twice, including those with text only on one side.
I would suggest you order your inkcartages from EPSON. They seem to be cheaper and I have not been able to find the extra large cartages anywhere.
Enjoy your printer, I like mine.

bad batch?

I liked the xp600 just fine to start, as the wireless setup was a breeze. Then, the printing went to pot after two weeks. The next two units were bad out of the box. I hope this was a bad run at the factory, as this kind of quality isn't what I had seen before.

frustration

Bought this device to make my our lives easier and it has done anything but that. One pain in the butt after the other. If one ink is not low, then its another ink that needs a nozzle cleaning. I bought a brand new black and cyan ink and after 2 color prints (6 pages) they were registering low again. I mean, we bought the printer in October and maybe, at best, have hade 8 printing jobs that were as simple as hitting print. I would love to return this printer and start over! Stay away from the Epson XP-600!!!

Problems

I have had a lot of trouble with the black printer ink with this printer. The first couple of weeks it worked fine, then said I needed to replace it. I only get a short life with the black printer ink and then have to replace it again. This is the first (and last) time I have used an Epson printer. I am going to replace it soon. Sorry to say it was a waste of my money. I have had to spend a lot of $$$ on replacing the black ink. Would not recommend this printer.

Mixed emotions

I really like my Epson XP600 but was frustrated when I had to replace the black cartridge & the machine refused to recognize the new cartridge. after much discussion with Epson tech support they sent me a new replacement cartridge which also wasn't recognized. The result was that the printer was replaced with another printer which had been refurbished. I since had to replace one of the color cartridges & that went fine but I worry that when I have to replace a cartridge that I will have problems again. I hope not, only time will tell.
