I love my Chromebook is a really ggod option to have beside a tablet, is super fast to, and has everything that i want in the go.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight

The Chromebook is fast and light. Open the lid, and it begins starting up. Within 10-20 seconds, you are at the log on screen. You log on with your Gmail account and connect to a wifi internet signal (there is no ethernet port on this model). The Chromebook automatically updates your computer to the newest version of the Chrome operating system, so you do not have to worry about buying and upgrading every few years like you might with Windows et al. Also, you are protected by Google's virus protection, which is also updated, so you do not have to buy your own.
You are now ready to roll. Surf the internet using Google Chrome, check your Gmail or YouTube accounts, and launch other Google applications right from the bottom of your screen. There is no other pre-loaded software (nor is there a CD disc drive to add some on this model). There are two USB ports, one HDMI port and one SD port (for camera memory cards).
This is not a laptop designed to replace your computer with word processing, presentation and other software. But if you are comfortable using Google Drive (formerly Docs), then you do not need the newest version of Microsoft Office. There is an option, which I have not tried yet, to connect your Chromebook remotely to another computer's desktop and allow you to work on that computer while using the Chromebook. If this works the way I think it does, I would not need anything but my Chromebook with me, and my other computer(s) plugged in and connected to the internet somewhere in the world.
This is a great, cheap computer to get on and off the internet, which I think most people use their computers for these days. I am not sure how big the hard drive is, but most stuff will be stored in the cloud, anyway. It has very few applications to bog it down, so it runs fast. The USB drives are handy for connecting external devices, if you want/need them. The battery lasts a good long time. To shut it down, just hold the power button for four seconds.
I have only encountered two problems so far: 1. I work on a college campus, and their internet protocols are wacky. I could not figure out how to connect to the internet, and had to take it to the IT department. They were stymied a short while, as they had not had exposure to the Chromebook yet. Once they figured it out, though, I have not had a problem since (the IT people also commented that they were impressed with the device). 2. There is a bug affecting many Chromebooks that if you shut the lid without powering down, or if you let it go into sleep mode, it will not come back on without you having to "hard reset" the Chromebook (hold the power button ten seconds). The designers are working on a fix, and once found, it will be automatically installed to all affected Chromebooks.
I like my Chromebook, and look forward to many years of using it. I am still using my old laptop for word processing right now, but if the remote desktop works, I will exclusively use the Chromebook.

Awesome....except no Netflix or Java.

I understand the lack of Java. It would be a huge drag on the system, but it would be nice if Google and Netflix would get busy on the API issues with the atom processor and get netflix working.

If you are looking for a laptop for a high school or college student, there is no better bang for your buck than the Samsung Chrome book. I was looking for something that was lightweight, had decent battery life, and could perform basic tasks such as web surfing and word processing; this thing fits the bill perfectly. It is important to know that most of the applications for this product are currently web based only (more will be available offline as time goes on) and internet access is needed for them to work; this was no issue for me because i am a college student and i have a constant WiFi connection around campus. I was amazed at how simple this device was to set up and use. The Chrome OS is extremely simple; if a person has never owned or operated a computer in their life, they will still have no problem operating a chrome book. For the small size, this device has a great keyboard that is very comfortable. The mouse pad is a bit different than usual, but an instructional video explains everything upon booting up for the first time. I have so far not had any major issues with this device, but there is one thing that i found a bit odd. All of the ports on my chrome book feel a bit tight. I had a bit of difficulty putting in a flash drive the first few times and i broke a pair of headphones off in the chrome book because it pulled the pin of the headphones off when i tried to unplug my headphones. I don't know if the headphones were just cheaply made and worn out from use or if my chrome book is just defective somehow but i am very delicate with my electronics and this has never happened to me before. Even though my chrome book ate my headphones, I would still seriously recommend this device for students; it fast, lightweight, and could perform all of the tasks needed to succeed in school. This would again also be a great first computer for someone because it is so simple and easy to use. I hope this review helps convince people to give chrome books a chance, I'm glad i did.

Didn't know anything about this computer till I was doing more research on Google products. I've used the chrome Browser on other products and love it so thought this would be a great idea to purchase as I don't expect to see any slowdown in performance over time. Everything about this computer works for me: size, weight, ease of use, keyboard is awesome , love the touchpad and it's responsiveness, The computer doesn't overheat like other laptops I've had, Screen is great, tools are great, apps are what you'd expect... etc. etc..
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Constantly Locks Up

We bought this product for our 11 year old daughter. We are completely disappointed so far with it. The mouse continually locks up and she has difficulty loading her favorite websites and watching YouTube. If we don't get resolution soon it will go back to the store for another brand. We went with Samsung because we have been impressed with the 2 Galaxy Tabs and S3s that we own, so we stuck with the brand, bad idea I guess.

Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor performance
