I love my decision to get a chromebook

I have work in the computer industry for a while, and always relied on a laptop. My switch to this chromebook took a lot of consideration. I have used chromebooks before, but never owned one. This is a durable device that survived daily use by my 3 and 6 year olds. It offers decent performance. But overall it was a great value for me.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Built-in speakers, Durable
Cons: a bit under powered

Great Little Do Almost Anything laptop/notebook

I have never been disappointed with a Samsung product, having several cellphones, TVs, Monitors, and now computers from Samsung. There products have always been well-constructed and are usually class leaders in price/performance ratio.
This Samsung laptop has been extremely handy - it replaced a 10" tablet that I had never really been happy with, largely because of the touchscreen interface. Even adding a keyboard to the old non-Samsung 10" tablet didn't improve my experience. I wanted a true keyboard, and a large display area similar to the 10" tablet, and something besides a touchscreen interface because I have relatively large hands.
This laptophas been perfect. It has an HDMI port, a USB port, and a hardwired internet port, along with an SD card memory slot so you can hook it up to your TV to use as a streaming device, or use it standalone on the couch to do research or entertainment viewing, including send streamed video to a Chromecast - which I do. And it also recognized my FireTV box for streaming as well.
The display is 1366x768 and is clear and bright and easy to read. And the ChromeOS has some really great features for zooming and magnifying some of the fine print you find on a lot of websites these days.
Probably the best feature overall is the ChromeOS system. I have a gmail account and have used the Chrome Browser on several of my other PCs and had customized the applications I use on those Windows machines using the Chrome browser and also on my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone. Imagine my surprise when first using this machine when all of those customizations and installed apps, at least the compatible one, all showed up once I entered by Google ID and password - automatically - all the features I need from Wallpaper to application library were all there.
The battery life is excellent compared to my other portable PCs - where 2.5 to 3 hours of battery life is all I can get out of the Windows laptops - this Chromebook easily doubles that - haven't actually run it to ground yet to be certain but I've run 5.5 hours at one sitting and it was still claiming more than 10% battery life.
I've used the Chromebook to drive my 1920x1080p Samsung TV and the picture was excellent although I did get some slight pauses but it's always hard to tell whether pauses are network issues or local hardware problems.
All in all - an excellent value for the money!
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: chromeos won't play some android games

The Laptop in General

The laptop is simple, as a chromebook should be. The design is good. There are minimal features but it is a chromebook. The display is good and it is fast when on the Internet. I like how you can add the apps from the Chrome Web Store to the tray on bottom of the screen. It has an HDMI port for a TV and a USB 3.0 port. Both of those are actually handy for a laptop. It has an ok camera, but it gets the job done. Overall the laptop is great for simple use like Facebook or YouTube. Also great for homework.
Pros: Inexpensive, Built-in speakers, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality

After a year
on November 18, 2015

After owning this for a year, and only really using it to browse the internet, I've noticed that the battery life has started to suffer dramatically.
It also freezes randomly. And the mousepad is the worst. For the price, I guess it's worth it? But I'd rather pay more and get a better product that will last for more than a year.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
