Dishwasher has great features and style

since the dishwasher was installed we have enjoyed its many features ...ex: the different cycles and cycle options along with the upper rack only option. the top rack is height adjustable with folding tines. the bottom rack also has folding tines to allow for large items. the tub is extra tall and is stainless steel which allows for the height issues we faced on our old dishwasher. a large silverware basket that can be separated into 3 and used in both top and bottom racks as needed. Also is very quite while running and has a cute chime when done! it also has a smart diagnosis system that you can use with your smart phone..we really like this dishwasher.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings

Love LG, I already own a LG washing machine and a LG refrigerator so when I needed to replace my dishwasher it was automatic I looked to LG.
I bought a LDS5040ST
first of all the cycle times are extremely long
(2 hours 21 minutes), my old machine would run for 45 minutes, the dishes came out hot, clean and dry. When I use the shortest cycle on my new machine (1 hour 24 minutes) the dishes and the inside of the dishwasher are still wet.

The poorly designed fold down dish separators on the racks fall down even though I snap them in every time which can be frustrating.
I guess I should have shopped around instead trusting this some what new recommended company.

This is the worse dishwasher I have ever used in the 45 years of marriage I will never purchase an LG again I have called the company direct which was told to change soap to Cascade Not to use packs pods or pouches Have tried power and atleast 1/4 of the powder stays and I have to clean the compartment out Use Jet Dry still residue on dishes and glasses Must wash dishes BEFORE they get put in the washer I have the dial number on the highest setting per company suggestion Have tried power clean also Now HELP
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great product easy installation

Have been using this dishwasher for about a month and it is performing very well. Installation was easy and there were no issues. This is a very quiet machine you can only hear it if you are standing next to it. I was skeptical about having a machine without a heating element but so far it dries the dishes very well. I would recommend this machine, no need to pay more for a quieter machine.

So quiet

The first time I ran it, it was so QUIET I had to check the clock to be sure it was on. Works great. However, the door folds out lower then our old one, so I have to bend over further then before. We also use thick dishes (Pottery) and they therefore do not stand up straight with their standing pins, but flop over on one another. However, I don't know anyone else that uses these kind of dishes . . . It also cleans great. I would buy another just because it is so quiet.

This dishwasher seems to work well, the only negative is that it takes a long time from start to finish even without the drying element on.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love this dishwasher! It's so quiet, I have to double check to make sure it's running! I love the settings for small loads, fast wash,etc.. I would recommend the LG Dishwasher to any of my friends, I'm a very satisfied customer!

Another great LG product. This dishwasher is so quiet I have gone into the kitchen to check if it's working. Easy to use and dishes are clean and dry. It is very easy to adjust for large baking sheets or odd shaped plates. It also plays a song when dishes are done and loud enough to hear in another room. Glad I purchased this machine.
