There's only 1 thing I like about this dishwasher

We moved into this house 7 mos ago. Fridge, oven, and dishwasher are all LG. I don't like any of them, but I'll keep this review to the dishwasher. I don't know how old it is but judging from the rusted tine (only 1 is rusted) and the pieces that don't work (the purple pieces that hold the tines up) it's definitely not new. The first time I ran it many of the cups and glasses on the top rack had clumps of dried food left in them. I used a dishwasher cleaner and upped the quality of the detergent, that didn't help much. Then came the real problems. It started leaking from the bottom - to the point where the water leaked down into the lower level laundry room. The repair people have been here 3 times and it is STILL leaking. They've replaced 2 parts. It will work fine for 3-4 leads then start leaking again. I've never been so disappointed in a washer - never will I buy LG again. I saw a review here that mentioned the plates fall and clatter once you shut the door. That is also true for me. Oh, the only think I like about this dishwasher is the musical tones it plays when it's finished.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

works good, mounting design flaw

I've purchased this dishwasher for two different houses and both times had the same issue of the side mounting bracket breaking off the frame of the dishwasher due to poor design. Neither time has LG been willing to work with me outside of the warranty window. Instead I've had to pay ridiculous Appliance repair fees to have them come out and drill holes inside the stainless steel tub where there are not supposed to be holes in order to re-mount the dishwasher to the side of the cabinets (due to having granite counter tops) How LG doesn't have a mounting bracket to replace this when it breaks is beyond me. I know I will not be buying LG appliance going forward.
Pros: Style/Design, ease of use, Features/Settings, Performance, Quality

Keep getting IE error at the exact same point

I own this dishwasher for about 7 years now. Since the beginning of this year, I kept getting IE error at exactly the same point when the timer shows 41 minutes left. I searched the internet and it said IE is for Inlet problem. If it was inlet problem, would it stop working at the very beginning of the cycle? This is so frustrating.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Dishwasher works really well but I had this dishwasher for almost 5 years and then the sump/motor had to be replaced as it started leaking and had a high pitched squeal. Then, right after that a switch underneath needed to be replaced. Sometimes things happen. Luckily I had the 5 year extended warranty.
Pros: ease of use, Features/Settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will be a short-lived appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had several major problems with our dishwasher in spite of the fact that it is only four and a half years old. The dishes on the top rack do not get clean. The silverware always comes out with 3 or 4 dirty pieces no matter how meticulously we load it. We obtained the manual and followed all the advice and instructions; turned up our water temperature, cleaned the filter, and made sure the arms were clear of debris. We added rinse agent and things improved, but we still can only use the bottom rack. We will have to call for service. Fortunately the customer support at LG is excellent.
