[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I use to own an LG LDS5040WW dishwasher. It was great. The normal washing cycle was close to two hours long and the dishes, silverware and the dish racks were dry when the cycle ended.
Now we have this dishwasher, LG LDF5545WW. The normal washing cycle takes just over three hours. To get the dishes and silverware to dry most of the time I have turned on two options. The first option is “Extra Dry” and the second one is “High Heat.” The dishes and silverware are mostly dry when the cycle ends, but the dish racks are still wet. When I remove the silverware from the holder water can get on the silverware. that’s why I must dry some of the silverware manually. Most of the time the dishes seem fine. Why it takes an extra hour to run the same cycle is beyond me.
I have no idea what they have done to the new dishwasher but the old one worked a lot better. It’s as if they went backwards with the technology. Maybe the reason the water doesn’t dry on the racks is they might not have metal in them anymore.
I like the fact that there is no heating element at the bottom like a lot of the other dishwashers have. The heating element on this unit like our last dishwasher is built-in. You can also download a different wash cycle only if you have a phone that supports NFC (Near-Field-Communication) option. My phone does not. Neither do either of my tablets.
Would I buy this dishwasher again if I knew about these issues? I guess I would but my wife and I miss our old dishwasher. It worked great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Racks don’t stay up anymore, the one that do don’t hold dishes up. Close the door, they fall. Racks are covered in rust & chunks falling off. Doesn’t clean 1/2 the time or they come out dirtier! Doesn’t dry good, but dishes that do dry have dried up food on them that wasn’t there before. I’m so angry I bought this!

The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because the dishes occasionally get a film on them even with using rinse aid and the detergent pods occasionally get stuck in the holder for it. I have not been able to get the smart diagnostics to work.
