THIS DISHWASHER IS SO QUIET COMPARED TO MY OLD ONE. THE RACKS CAN BE ADJUSTED FOR DIFFERENT SIZE ITEMS. DISHES COME OUT GREAT. I HAVE NO ISSUES WITH IT. I ALSO LIKE THE SLEEK DESIGN WITHOUT THE BIG HANDLE.

Good features spoiled by bad racks
on November 2, 2014

I have used this dishwasher for about one year, mechanically trouble free. The unit is quiet, and washes well. It is energy efficient, and also turns itself off after washing is done. I find the racks to be difficult to load, unfortunately. The racks are wire cages, and the wires interfere with positioning dishes. Also, the tines in the bottom rack are arranged in a way that dishes are loaded sideways to the door, instead being loaded parallel to the door, so that when the rack is moved dishes roll out of position. There is one good thing I can say about the bottom rack, which is that half of one row of tines are widely spread apart, so that I can load extra deep bowls. Dinner plates cannot be properly loaded in the bottom wire cage, because they fall forward and the edges land on each other. I place them in the top rack, and they stay in place very well, even when I move the rack. Unlike the bottom rack, dishes face the door. The bottom of the top wire cage along the sides are formed at absurdly sharp angles which have no utilitarian purpose. One of the rows is too narrow for regular sized cups. As a consequence of the rack system, the handling and loading of the dishwasher is a nuisance, which I have to deal with every day. If it was not for this, I would grade the dishwasher as very good. There is an interesting feature for washing the top rack only. However, it does not save water or time over Quick wash, and is close to Normal wash. It is difficult to see what its purpose is, except that you only need to empty one rack. The sectional basket allows one to detach one basket and move it to the top.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, Quality, quiet

Mostly easy to install, the height adjustment is a little awkward but every thing else went great. Works wonderful even for the dishes my daughter puts in without rinsing.

Missing a few important installation parts.

As you can see from my product review I have nothing but good things to say about this dishwasher. It was an excellent value, it is extremely quiet and washes dishes like your grandmother use to do in the sink- only better! I do have one major complaint with both LG and the retailer where we purchased the dishwasher. They did not tell us that we needed an installation kit to install it: electrical cord (not supplied), water inlet connector was not standard "NPT" and had to be "jerry" replaced. The back leg screw adjustments were not properly explained and installation time was about 3 hours. I will probably have a plumber install the next dishwasher that I buy as unknown complications are best handled by paying a professional.
Pros: installation

I am so happy that my old dishwasher broke. This is my favorite appliance in our home. It has awesome features and is VERY QUIET. My last machine would run at night and it sounded like a freight train coming through the kitchen. I don't even hear this machine running. I love it!
