everything is always burned!

I don't have the handle issue as previous reviews, but no setting works properly. It's either way undercooked or overly burned and not evenly. One side is always more darker than the other side. Thin slices get caught and wedge on the bottom. DON'T BUY
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nifty Little Toaster

This is a sleek nice little toaster that really gets the job done. I like that its compact size allows for storage on a kitchen counter instead of having to store it in a cupboard. It also toasts my food quickly and effortlessly. There are also designated buttons for bagel or frozen to take the guesswork out of what number to use. The pull-out tray makes cleaning out crumbs easier as well. My only qualms are that the cord is quite short, although most toasters are made that way and the toaster lever is bit flimsy and I could see it breaking if one were too rough with it. Overall a really great product! Disclaimer: I received this product as a sample to review.

Worst Oster product I ever got

Received this as a gift. Lasted 2 weeks, then, the handle will not stay down, and as soon as you plug it in it turns itself on. Even with the handle in the "UP" position.
Can't be returned without sales slip. Even if given as a gift.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features and excellent functionality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toaster shows me how much technology has improved since I bought my last one! There are several pros to this toaster as follows: 1. Style - I was impressed by the sleek lines and design. My old toaster is white and plain with a simple bread lever. This matches my black and white kitchen, too which was an added bonus. 2. Ease of use - although there are more functions than my simple old toaster, it is obvious how to use the toast vs the defrost settings, and the dial is accurate when choosing toast level of doneness. 3. Extra features - the blue led light was a nice touch and let's you know you chose the right setting. Adding a defrost function is huge as it allows your frozen pastry or waffle to become room temperature before toasting and prevents the burning edges or still frozen center that often happen. OVERALL I GIVE THIS TOASTER 5 stars for performing excellently and looking great and adding benefit to my kitchen.

Perfect toast without the loud pop!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this toaster a little over a month ago. At first I was skeptic of it being so lightweight. At first it seemed that maybe it was cheaply made. Then I used it and it is the best toaster I have ever owned. It toast the bread so perfectly and evenly. Another feature is it does it so quickly. At first I didn't even realize that my toast was done because there was no loud obnoxious pop. It was so quiet which is a great thing for early morning toast. Lastly it's a very attractive toaster. A very modern look. Definitely a product I would recommend to friends.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new Oster 2 slice toaster!! The toasting feature is excellent because it provides a nice even toasting on both sides of whatever your trying to toast...which is something my previous toaster could not accomplish. The toaster has a variety of settings so you can go from dark to light without much thought. The wide slots are great for bagels and the frozen button works perfect for my store bought frozen waffles. An excellent product for anyone looking for a new toaster and the black color goes perfectly with everything in my kitchen. Disclaimer: I received this product as a sample to review.

Decent value, accurate toaster, cheap materials

Overall the toaster is pretty good. It toasts the bread evenly and the darkness setting toasted the bread as I expected. The materials used for the toaster seem cheap and plastic to me. It seems like they skimped there a bit. The first time I used the toaster it smelled like burning plastic, but it didn't affect the flavor of the toast. Also, when using the bagel setting it still toasted both sides when I expected it to only toast the open side of the bagel. We received this toaster as a demo unit for review.

Terrible toaster

This is going to go into the trash. It's terrible. The lever doesn't stay down unless you spend time manipulating it. One day you have to put it up to the darkest in order to just get it to toast. The next day it burns the toast. Leaves an untoasted border on a piece of bread.
