Great when it works

I have had this unit for 6 months. When it works it is slick. However mine freezes constantly, gives a blank screen, the remote and/or buttons in the front are useless and freeze also when this happens. The only thing that cures it is unplugging and rebooting. The software is up to date so that is not an issue. The wi if features are nice. However pairing with Bluetooth speakers worked for a while then just started cutting out and became unlistenable. My advise keep,looking

Disappointment

I had the SONY S3500 player which had constant lockups, so I thought it was simply old and tired, and "upgraded" to the S6500. Really there is no difference. CONSTANT lock-ups. Routine factory resets. The YouTube app flat out doesn't work, it goes to a red screen... that's it. Other than Netflix and the rare DVD there is no other reason to use this player in my house. I've resorted to hooking up my laptop to my TV with an HDMI cable and get better features. Additionally, the ratings settings for limiting content for children are extremely inadequate and unclear. Don't waste your money.

Fails after 2 years

Great player but failed reading discs after 2 years. Wont recognize downloaded software upgrades, cleaned laser disc with cleaner discs, etc., etc., nothing works. A great player if it would work longer than just 2 years.

Another Sony Fail

I have bought this Sony product as I keep trying to believe Sony makes great things.. Think this will be my last ever Sony product.
Useless player. Turns itself of and have to keep unplugging and replugging. Remote does not work somehow except eject!?!?!
Can't play discs and am done with it.. Bought it as an upmarket player and was told it was one of the best from JB hifi..
Bin time..

Found out it is not 4K when tried to play 4K disc.

I thought this unit was a 4K Ultra HD player. It is not. It has 4K upscaling, whatever that is. Remote control very hard to use. Remote should have backlighting.

Advanced DVD Player

Simple to setup.
Only had a few days but image is impeccible and te wireless features are great. I've been able to replace (consolidate) by Roku and am using NetFlix , YouTube and Amazon via the player. Works flawlessly.

Looks Like 4K

Unbelievable! Booting and loading speeds are unbelievably fast. Iswear that my oldest DVD appears to be 2K. The definition and clarity is fantastic.
I feel that I now have truly affordable 4k, relative to what my picture quality used to be.

The best blu ray player I have ever bought. Clear picture and the 3D is unbelievable. I love the mirror feature.... it works great with my Samsung galaxy note 2. Also the sound quality is amazing.
