I bought this in September 2015. It worked great. Recently it required being reset frequently because it worked erratically. I downloaded a software update but it still didn't work consistently. I liked the product but feel it should have lasted more than 2 years and 3 months.
This is my second player from this company and I won't buy from anyone else because of that it's versatility. I hook up a 1 tb hard drive into the usb and play movies. It's great!
Shipping was fine, and on sale online. Product worked great at first, but then started having issues with the color turning pink on the screen. I was running it through a SONY DA5300ES receiver, but would have to disconnect/reconnect it when the screen turned pink. This would happen intermittently. Sometimes it would also shut down during a middle of a movie, and then it would continue afterwards. Then it would take a long time to boot up, it would say 'wait', then eventually shut down. Now I'm wary of buying higher end products and just buying something more disposable. My model was purchased in 2014. I should have returned it sooner or had it checked out sooner.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
