Great player only a few problems with device. Had to figure out how to make an IP address. Now it freezes every now and then while watching Netflix. Had to unplug the device to get it to unfreeze.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I really like this player.. most of the time. Sometimes it won't shutdown when you turn it off. I have to unplug it and plug it back in.. an annoying little problem that hasn't been addressed. Otherwise Blu-rays play great and it plays a flac and SACD.
This blu-ray player produces a great picture on blu-ray and standard discs but not so good with Netflix and Amazon Prime. This issue may not be the player but the streaming service problem. Do not have a 3D TV so can't comment on its quality. Very easy to operate but am disappointed in the cosmetic or aesthetic of the unit. It does not have any display, I miss the playback counter and the "hello & goodby" of my last Sony. Responses to the remote control such as on/off and open tray are very slow, so slow that the first use of the player I thought it was defective. A display informing me it was "working on it" would have resolved any concern. Overall as a DVD player, great!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello Vetteman! Thank you for sharing your feedback regarding the design and response on this unit, we will make sure to pass this information to the proper department for future reference.
I love the preloaded apps. I don't yet own any blueray disc but I use the unit to watch my Netflix and Amazon video. It's easier to watch through this than to cast to my TV with my cell phone because you can get to the pause and rewind much quicker. The picture on my 4K ultra HD TV looks great too.
This BluRay player does everything it promises to and does it well...
...except that it's stuck at only outputting a max of 720P (it won't output at 1080P nor 2160P). This negates the reason I bought this (for my new 4K TV) - especially for the high price I paid for it. I have the latest firmware and tried various solutions. ...even my 1080P BluRay discs are getting down-graded to 720P.
Note: I confirmed that my TV accepts 4K by attaching other 4K-output devices and can see the 3840×2160 pixels (plus the TV itself tells me the resolution it's receiving). I suspect I may have just received a broken product since others report 4K output - I might replace it.
