Good, quick cup of coffee!

The Mr. Coffee single serve brewing system is a great way to brew coffee whenever you'd really like some quickly and you don't want to make a whole pot. I REALLY liked the aspect that it came with a reusable filter strainer so you can use whatever grounds you'd like and you don't have to purchase the k cups. I also like that you can choose "strong brew" as an option. The water heats up in a timely manner and brews a good tasting cup of coffee. The size of the machine was nice, not too big on my counter as well. The one negative thing about it was the water reservoir. It seemed pretty small, and easy to spill water if you carry it over from the sink. Other than that, it is a nice quality made machine.

When you remove the K-cup holder it leaks. That's all I have.

I have had this coffee maker for a couple years now.. I use gm k cups.. and an ecobrew filter when i want to use my own ground beans.. I do have to make 2 small cups to fill my mug... you can't fit 4 tablespoons in any re-use able filter basket.. but it is easy any pretty quick... and only a quick rinse of the filter to clean... much easier than my old style coffee maker... the water is always fresh..

I bought this over a year ago and use it at least twice daily. I owned two Keurigs and they both quit working so I bought this and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. My only complaint about it is that it's not as fast as the Keurig, but not slow enough to irritate me. I love this machine!

Great product for the money

Bought this a little over a week ago on sale at a local Walmart store. My family and I have been looking now and again for a Keurig or any Single serve coffee maker for that matter. We love that it can make a cup of coffee in about 2 minutes. K-cups for the brewer aren't that cheap, but every now and then you'll be able to find a deal on them. Plus, there's a My K-cup reusable coffee pod where you can use your own coffee in the maker if you so choose. Overall, a great Coffee brewing experience!

In LOVE!

Last week, I realized something that worried me. I had been using the 12-cup coffeemaker for my morning coffee, brewing all 12 cups and saving what I didn't drink for the next few days. Each progressive day after the initial brewing, I would have increasing gut issues - cramping being the worst. I know my gut is sensitive - one reason I stopped drinking a pot (or more!) a day. I didn't want to waste coffee, either, and while I could have brewed half a pot (or less), that would be a pain while I worked out proportions.
My husband and I had been discussing K-cup single brewers for months, and I finally caved. We knew what we wanted - it had to have a reservoir and brew more than 8 ounces. Color wasn't a concern, but I would prefer to spend my money on a brand I trust.
So, on his next day off, we went to Walmart, just to see what was offered there. To my utter surprise and delight, there was the PERFECT machine, at a price I could not refuse! We tossed in a generic refillable cup, and off we went!
As soon as we got home, darling hubby had to play with it. He ran straight water through it, and my fears of splashing were erased. He used every single coffee mug in the house, and we have ONE that requires the 6 ounce setting (8 ounces would have been perfect!).
The next day when I woke up, it was like Christmas. I got to try my FIRST cup of coffee, and I used the Nantucket flavor that came with the unit. I was afraid it would be too strong, but it was absolutely perfect! Ahhh, bliss in a cup!
Well, a few days passed, and I went to try the new re-usable cup.. and it was a failure. Because this unit punches a hole in the bottom, the one we had gotten (flat-bottomed) wasn't going to work. We picked up a four-pack of the reusable Cefe Cups from a local store. As they had a "false" bottom (the actual bottom was elevated), we were positive they would work. No. The top part was just wide enough to "hang" in the k-cup hokder, and while it was possible to close the lid, it had to be forced. There was no way I was going to subject my machine to that! I was very glad we had picked up another box of pre-mades!
I decided to look on this website to see if there were any recommendations for a refillable K-cup. I read the reviews, and I really hope my darling machine doesn't do all the negative things! However, I learned 2 things... one, it also comes in red (drat. I wish Walmart had carried the red one!), and the Ekobrew reusable ones are what worked for one individual. Hubby looked on Amazon, and while they are expensive for the stainless steel ones, it is what we will be purchasing. It does appear as if it will work perfectly. To me, the fact that it is so hard to find a reusable one is a drawback, but wasn't a deal-breaker.

Only one thing I don't like

The thing works. Does what I want. But the deal breaker is the plastic that the water reservoir is made of. It stinks, literally! I thought it was just the "New out of the box" smell. But It's going on 2 years now..... You can't leave water in there overnight without your water smelling like plastic! No matter how many times it's washed, just can't get rid of the odor. To many, it might not be a big thing. But I expect the water to smell like water, not harmful plastic "leakage" smell.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
