This does indeed look a great deal, half the price of buying seperate inks and photo paper! However, it is intended to print basically the number of photo papers included. This is wonderful for someone who occassionally needs to print a batch of photos, but not good for everyday printing.

Comparing the HP printers to Epson, Canon, and Kodak, the HP's certainly give the best quality. I MUCH prefer the Advance photo paper, and that is actually what is recommended. The Premium paper takes a while to dry, and has that annoying tear off tab (because it does take a while to dry).

This value pack contains a lot less black than typical, and very little light magenta and cyan. In fact, a full light cyan and magenta will last for many hundreds of prints. I tend to buy yellow first, then black. But in a year with heavy printing, I've only replaced these a few times.

The ink does smear when wet, however. Of course a laser is better for printing labels that will be exposed to weather, but I would hope a photograph won't be getting wet.

What's great about it: Great for a project with photos

What's not so great: Not full ink
