This case while serving its purpose to protect the actual phone does wonders, whoever its also harmful at the same time. Due to the design flaw that Otterbox created with the open main button this allows dust, dirt, and even wood chips to make its way in and under the protective screen allowing such things to scratch the screen. The Hostler in itself is a complete shamble. Main stand clip has broken on mine with in the first month of owning the product , nor is the case designed to sit well when on a belt or pants. I find mine to dig into my side more than anything. Overall I would rate this case a 2. Mostly because I've dropped my phone a couple times and its saved it from breaking, but severely down rated because of the design flaws in the case itself and the holster. Knock another star off because Otterbox should know better to begin with than to leave an open spot on any case this just screams trouble.
I have also noticed that the outer casing that provides the shock resistance becomes stretched over a short period of time allowing more than its fair share of dirt and dust into the main case as well.
The Fact that I waited a month to get this case after the phone was released made me hope that otterbox would have done a better job in its design execution.
Cons: Not durable, open main button, poor design of holster clip, outer casing stretches to much becoming loose
Case is bullet proof as I have dropped it a number of times. Although I think it increases the size of the phone twice. On the other hand, the screen has a glare(worse the older it gets) and is a "dust magnet". Major problem as this is more than a little irritating.
The Otterbox case makes your phone a tank. I have dropped my phone a million times, down stair cases and not a scratch. Otterbox warranty and support are pretty amazing as well. I have broken my holster twice and has been replaced with no fuss or trouble.
The only "con" is that it makes your phone gigantic...but fair trade off in protecting your hardware.
I will ALWAYS buy an Otterbox case for whichever phone I get.
I am impressed with the case itself, it has survived many impacts and less than tender handling…. But the holder that attaches to your belt, catches on every chair with arms, that’s how the first one broke. The second one broke when I was getting into my car, and I got caught on the heavy pin of the door jam, and again the belt clip broke. I still use the OtterBox phone cover, but I use a fabric Walkman CD holder. This holder moves and bends freely when caught or snagged on chairs or other protruding objects.
