This game has an excellent use of all features accessible on the Xbox 360. Great campaign and unlike Halo games in the past you can now have a system link with a friend locally or take it to the next step and play it with your online friends on Xbox Live. However, the multi-player is by far the thing that makes you keep playing this game.
What's great about it: Excelent campaign, multiplayer, and graphics.

I bought into the hype of halo 3 and picked up the 360. I have a hdtv and a ps2 so I figured an upgrade in gaming system was in order.
I didn't play Halo or Halo 2 so I don't know if that makes a difference. The game is okay I just don't understand why everyone loves this game. If you get shot you can just hide for a moment and your health will regenerate. This is just one of the reasons I find the game to be so-so.
I also recently played Rainbow Six Vegas and MOH Airborne. So far Vegas is the best game I've played on the 360 out of about 10 games.

Well this game is amazing at first. However, after about a month or so after playing it, it will get kind of boring. It lived up to the hype and then it sort of dies. I recommend renting this game, beating it, and giving it back... Overall a pretty good game
What's great about it: Good graphics, fun at first
What's not so great: Needs more work on story and attracting gamers.

This game was really great, but was really easy. There weren't enough challenging parts to it. I did really like this game, and was by far the best Halo game yet.

Halo 3 is a good game. Campaign is good, but not as great as it could have been. The AI driving in campaign still lacks skill. The online is where this game excels, just as Halo 2. Online is where most gamers spend their hours. Plus, there is Forge, where you can edit maps by rearranging objects as you like. Plus, now you can watch replays of games and save them as films if you like. You can do all this with friends online as well. Plus, Online Co-Op for up to 4 people.
Bottom line: I would recommend this game to some with Xbox Live. If you are just going to get this game for just campaign, I would rent it.
What's great about it: Has A great replay value. There is so much packed in for the money
