I must admit, that Halo3 did not live up to its hype. DO not get me wrong, this is very a very good game, but it is just too much like its predecessor, Halo2. I was expecting grand graphics, but it looked too much like Halo2. The campaign missions are a joke, I almost beat the game with a friend (on normal difficulty) in about 5-6 hours. The battles are way too linear and you always have to fight, fight, fight. At times, you just wish you would move on, instead of fighting another wave of flood.
On the plus side, the multiplayer is of course very fun. Killing each other still has that same good feeling as it had in Halo3. The new maps and vehicles are pretty cool, but sometimes it feels that they were just tacked on, and are pointless. The new record-your-game thing is pretty cool, and the map editor, fun.
Overall, id give this game a 3 or 4, and do not recommend this game. Id say stick with Halo2.
What's great about it: Same good ol gunfighting, New weapons (brings new experience), Multi-player, new look of grenades etc...
What's not so great: Graphics look like Halo2 graphics, Campaign is a joke; story confusing and battles too linear, Too many guns/items

This game is absolutely excellent. The graphics are breathtaking and is a great upgrade from Halo 2. New weapons, vehicles and maps make this game a MUST HAVE for the 360.
What's great about it: Graphics, weapons, online play

After playing the whole game through on every difficulty, I can tell you the overall gameplay has not changed (except for the controls), some new campaign elements were added, but it felt the same as the last two and was nothing special. In fact, while I may be panning a little to hard, the campaign feels like a mini-game next to the best multiplayer on 360 and probably on every system. A must own, definitely if you have a 360; but there would be no reason just to purchase a 360 for Halo 3. I'm not saying that the game is overrated, cause it's not. It met my expectations and millions of others, but I don't think I am the only one with a feeling of dissapointment for the campaign. It had the potiential to be so awesome in many different ways (i.e. better ally AI, No story explanation unlike Halo 2, kind of went back Halo CE: not alot of background info)
If you have a 360, get this game and an Xbox live account along with it. A must have and great gameplay, fun, and years of enjoyment; just wishing the campaign could have been better.
What's great about it: Great Multiplayer, Co-op, graphics/environments, and variety of weapons.
What's not so great: Nothing new, Dissapointing Campaign, Bad Story, AI is kind of dumb.

The game was increadible. Plus with the addition of forge and other modes, this easily tops the other halo games. And forge mode is like my favorite (besides campaign) because you get to make your own level.
What's great about it: This game is in HD, so thats good; Bungie added new wepons and vehicles; An all out awesome game
What's not so great: It was kinda short; and the assult rifle only has 32 shots, not 60
