What's great about it: Diverse and Sturdy
What's not so great: Pro Install recommended
Mount is easy to setup on TV and is diverse with mounting height options and angles.
In regards to the ceiling mount itself, it in fact does not come with the kit. But have no fear, you don't have to go far to get the piece. The actual portion for the ceiling piece is not included because there are several variations of framing; which referes to mounting applications. Chief is rated for business/commercial grade mounting and this results in many forms of ceiling mount bases.
Go to a hardware store and in the plumbing department, pick up a $10, 1.5" NPT ceiling mount and that completes the system. I know it is weird that they would not include one in the kit, but I am willing to bet there would be more complaints if they included the one on the picture because you probably don't have that specific framing to mount to.
Pick up a Circular ceiling mount at THD so the mount doesn't look off-plane and can be safely mounted to a ceiling no matter what angle the TV is facing or the direction of your framing.

What's great about it: order showed up fast
What's not so great: part that attaches unit to ceiling shown is not included so cant use it.
Imagine our surprise when we prepared to mount our new tv to the ceiling with our handy dandy ceiling mount kit and we discovered that, after calling the manufaturer, the part needed to attach it to the ceiling that is clearly shown on the website is not included in the kit. Bummer need to track down more parts before we can use it. It may just be the best thing ever once we actually get to use it. Frustrating...
