Great idea, not so great ideally

We purchased this refrigerator 3 years ago. The space is amazing and it is a beautiful fridge. The idea of the compact ice maker in the door is a great way to go if it works properly. Ours, not so much. It is supposed to produce enough ice for 2-3 people all day long. It doesn’t. On a good day it maybe filled up 3 glasses and then we have to push the plus button. We had to have the ice maker serviced twice under warranty and then replaced once under extended warranty because it was leaking and it stopped producing ice. (The first time it was serviced was within 4 months of purchase) It still doesn’t produce as much ice as the repair man and the specs say it should but we are tired of complaining about it. And I don’t really think it will do what they say it will do. We just got some extra ice trays.
At the beginning of this year, we were lucky enough to find out that we got the refrigerator model that had the bad compressor. This was the beginning of our third year of owning this beast. Our freezer went out first and then the fridge stopped cooling. We then had to wait 3 weeks, without a fridge at all for a new compressor to come in so our refrigerator could be fixed. Luckily it was cold outside so we were able to keep coolers in our carport full of bagged ice for the stuff we couldn’t live without. Needless to say it has been an adventure with this fridge and a huge expense with bags of ice over the past 3 years. Hopefully all the kinks have been worked out and we are finished with the problems.

Great features, but horrible repair experience

We really enjoy LG products (like our TV and washer), but our Fridge experiencing problems after only 4 yrs of ownership and the painful repair duration was just traumatizing. So even though we are big believers on LG brand, on that experience alone, we would not consider getting an LG Fridge again.

Compressor failed, fridge only 4 years old

Overall, it is aesthetically appealing, but I was extremely upset when the cooling functioning failed, and I lost several hundred dollars worth of food! Upon looking at the production tag attached to the interior of the appliance, I realized it was only 4 years old! Thankfully, it was still under warranty, as the compressor needed to be replaced......but I still lost several hundred dollars worth of food, not to mention the two-week wait to get the appliance serviced. Needless to say, I don't have a lot of confidence that this appliance will have a long life.

The features of our French Door, freezer on the bottom model have more than met our needs--from adjustable shelving that is easy to clean to a freezer compartment that allows separation of items for ease of retrieval.
