They don't make things like they used to!

probably the compressor, which is stated to have a 10 year warranty, but I'm sure the labor that I will be charged to fix it will be half of the price of the fridge.

DO NOT BUY!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My unit is three years old. Manufacture date is 6/17. It is useless. Unopened milk goes sour a week before pull date. Freezer will not freeze. Finally checked the temps, fridge is registering at 48, freezer at 33. Apparently the invertor compressor (?) is faulty. Check out the class action lawsuit. We didn't ALL just get bad units.

Compressor Shot

I Purchased this refridgerator 4 years ago. 1 year in the Ice machine went and was replaced. Now I just found out that the compressor is dead. The Authorized dealer said he will replace it with a newer model compressor but he guarantees it will go again. After reading reviews I see why this model was discontinued. I am disappointed with LG at this time. I spent a lot of money and now I have to worry every day about the compressor going again. LG should replace this refrigerator for their customers. I now have to wait 5 to 6 days for the part to come in and then have the authorized dealer come back .

Ok, but not great

Have only had this fridge 5 years. Icemaker leaked and had to be replaced while under warranty. Now leaking again. Fortunately I watched the LG repairman and it's pretty simple so I will try to order the part myself and replace myself. All that money and in 5 years two ice makers replaced. They sure don't make refrigerators like they used to. Don't think I'll by another LG when I replace this.

Compressor quit

I am deeply disappointed in the LG refrigerator. I have owned it for less than 5 years and had to call repair services 5 times already. Initially, there was a problem with the ice maker, then with ice buildup below and behind the freezer door. At the beginning of the fourth year, the compressor quit working completely. I had to wait over a week for the repair service to arrive, and thus all food in the refrigerator and the freezer was ruined. Less than 6 months later the fridge and freezer are no longer cold enough. Once again I had to wait a week for a repair appointment and the food had to be discarded. Sadly, the only thing this refrigerator has going for it, are the looks. It is a beautiful appliance. However, you cannot count on it to keep your food as cold as it needs to be.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Apparent Frequent Occurrance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This refrigerator worked perfectly for over three years. Then, one day, the compressor started failing, and would not hold the temperatures desired in both the fridge and the freezer. And added problem included the icemaker making ice but not dumping it. We are awaiting the repair man to install a new compressor, as we are told this problem is still under warranty. Also, we are told that this problem is very frequent with this model refrigerator.
