I felt LG was a good brand as I have an older fridge and several TVS of this brand. However my 2017 French door fridge has gone out twice and both times it was the compressor. Thankfully I took out a 5 year extended warranty. If not I would have just junked it and bought a new one as it was too expensive to repair. I would not recommend an LG fridge today unless they started using a different compressor as this is now a known problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this refrigerator 7 years ago, November 2014. The compressor started consuming a LOT more eletricity and could not keep the freezer cold enough. after 8 calls with LG support, I got approval for an "extended warranty" on the compressor and had it repaired for free, under this policy. Now fully working again as expected! Thank you LG!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The fridge is nice, layout is good, features are great, but the compressor went out after about 3 years. Luckily, we purchased an extended warranty when we bought it and it was covered. However, techs were more than 2 weeks out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

What! Dead in less than 5 years!

Bought this refrigerator in 2018 and now its 2022 and it won't cool anymore. I started being unhappy some time ago when the ice maker decided to slow down to just a twice a day dump. Such a drag. Now I had to go and purchase another fridge and this time I made sure it wasn't an LG (Low Grade) model. I am sorely disappointed in this manufacturer. My beer fridge is older than this and proved to be the savior of our food.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We sincerely hate to hear this and thank you for this feedback.^Sandy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It died after 7 years. Gone are the days when manufacturers built things to last. Gone are the days of having a 15-20 year old refrigerator in the basement for overflow and you only bought the new one because you were remodeling. The landfill is bursting with 5-7 year stainless steel wifi enabled boat anchors that do everything else except keep your food cold. LG gives you 10 years on the compressor; but that's not what goes bad. The refrigerant lines internal to box spring a leak because of cheap materials and brazing techniques. Where is consumer advocacy. Spending this kind of money, people should get MORE.

We are sad to learn that your refrigerator needed repair. Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us. ^Sandy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit ran very well for two years and then on day it died. The repair man came out in about five days and proceeded to test the unit to find the problem which turned out to be all refrigerators' nemeses, the compressor. It had to be ordered which took another week and a half and finally, it was delivered and installed and failed right off the bat. It still isn't working but thanks to a really great neighbor, we were able to save all the freezer items. Stay tuned for more info on when will the refrigerator live or die forever.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality of this product tells me that LG made a strategic decision to keep it in the market knowing it was of defective quality, but playing up a "generous" warranty as a selling point even though they know it'll be completely broken by year 5. Thanks, LG, never buying from you again.
