Do not buy any french door products

Be warned, do not buy any of LG's french door refrigerators. The ice make is useless. We have had a french door model for 2 years now and the ice maker is worthless. It will not keep my wife and I in ice on the weekends. The ice maker died 1 week after it was delivered and had to be replaced. We have spent hours of the phone with LG complaining about it and trying to get help. It was just serviced again. The ice maker hangs, dumps water, freezes up and just basically does not work. All of their french door units have the same ice maker in them. It is kind of a joke that they supply about a 1 cubic foot bucket in the freezer that you are supposed to put extra ice in when it won't keep the bucket in the door full. If I have to take the bucket out of the door to store ice in the freezer, which the big extra bucket take up room in the freezer, I might as well just use ice trays. Do not buy french door units!

Horrible refrigerator

I am so disappointed with this refrigerator. We have had it less than 6 months and already the freezer has stopped working twice leaving all our frozen foods, including hundreds of dollars in meats and frozen items to thaw and perish. Very disappointed also with the customer service. There is not an available person to come look at the appliance for a week. Meanwhile leaving us with no freezer. Very disappointed and urge people not to buy this refridgerator.

Very attractive beside the granite counter tops. Easy to use French Doors with spacious interior. Double freezer drawers are very convenient.

Great in theory...if it ever started to work

We were excited to upgrade our aging refrigerator to this roomy and efficient model, especially since the previous refrigerator was not going to fit all the food prepped for Thanksgiving 2015. Unit was delivered Wed 25 Nov, let sit to cool the requisite several hours before placing food in. Maybe the door was opened a bit too long? we thought. 12 hours later, internal temp hovered between 58 and 60. 24 hours on, internal temp is 67.9 degrees Fahrenheit.
Maybe once we can actually use this appliance for its designed purpose instead of a spoilage cabinet, I can update the rating. Waiting on information back from LG Repair Service at the moment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
