The # 21 HP ink cartridge is really just fine as are all HP cartridges I have purchased/used for many years. And the time involved to receive it was "just fine" as well. The low rating comes because apparently HP does not make the 701 cartridge anymore and does not have a compatible replacement for 701. The 701 fits my old and reliable model HP 2140 fax machine.....and is a FAX only! I loved it as it is small, fit in my office near the phone jack and for the last 10 years or so was used only once a month (with only 1 or 2 exceptions). My wife runs her own business from our home and as printers wore out, the newer ones included the fax as well. I kept the old 2140 for myself & the 701 ink would last nearly 3 years. Recently I could not get a 701 locally and your HP Cust. Ser. agent really worked & researched a lot to find something compatible to replace the old 701...Many thanks to her for her time and effort. Alas, the # 21 would not snap into place in my dear old HP 2140 Faxer. The small ridges on the top/front of the cartridge did not match up with the locking metal clip. And the Ele. contact pattern was different. I returned it as per HP's return procedure. I suppose my old 2140 fax must be retired as I have been for 9 years. The #21 ink had a great price as well. I have used refills in the past and they did not work well at all. I suppose I will turn in the old 2140 Faxer for recycle at my office supply store on my next trip there. Thank you for your time in reading this and rest assured the Palasky household will continue using HP hardware.
