These things are grout. I have had several pairs and use them while riding my motorcycle. They cut down the wind noise extensively and allow me the hear my podcasts.
The only problem is that they aren't as sturdy as I would like. They only last about 6 months before I damage them and need to buy a new set. But then, I think I am putting them to heavier use than most folks.

These are good backup buds. I am disappointed with the length of the cord. With the buds in and my iphone in my pocket there is no slack. Constantly turning my head and losing the earbud. Great for shorter people or kids. Ill probably give mine to mi 4 yo daughter
