I bought by GE cook-top few month back & have been happy so far except the fact that I can not get it to be completely clean even by using the specific Glass Cook-top cleaner ?

I love this cook top. It boils water super fast. Much more even cooking than old fashioned coils. No knobs to clean. Love the lock feature. Love the two burners that sinc, both for pancakes and grilling larger amounts.

We have had this cooktop for only two weeks - have not used much yet. For what we have cooked it has performed superbly. However, we are bit freaked-out vis-a-vis the cost (over $750) and how delicately it has to be treated. It seems rather silly to make a kitchen product that costs so much yet has to be cleaned using a special sponge and cleaner. If you seriously cook then you may want to consider something other that a glass cooktop. We are afraid any little thing we do while cooking or cleaning will crack, chip, or scratch the glass.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cook top not recommended.

I love that it heats up faster. I don’t like the placement of the eyes. The 3 smaller ones are too close together to have a pan on each one. Also the placement of the controls are not good. If I move a hot pan off a hot eye to another spot on the stove, most of the time it hits a control that turns on another eye. It would be better if the eyes were evenly placed and the controls were down the outer edge on one side. Also the surface is too shiny. You can’t just wipe it off with a clean dish cloth because it leaves it streaky. You have to clean it down with the cleaner and a paper towel each time. Also I don’t like not getting a manual and having to look everything on line. It has been a real disappointment since we are doing a total kitchen update and I’ll have to live with this for a long time. If I could trade it in I would. Sorry.
