If this is not a 5 to you then you are crazy

We have had ours for going on 3 years and we love it just as much as we did when we got it for Christmas. We use it daily. We use it when cleaning, when showering, and most importantly while sitting by our creek with the fire going. Everyone loves this device and always inquires about it.

Great Bose sound on the go or at home
on July 20, 2015

I have a few Bose products and must say this has been a great buy. I first had it set up in the house and had it playing on my old ipod and the new iphone6. The sound was really good for the inside BUT for outside use it is great. Used it by the pool and have taken on two family outings the the park. The sound was clear and it will get loud. Buy an extra battery it came in handy at the park. Enjoy!

Downgrade from past models

Had the sound dock 2 for a few years and absolutely loved/love it. Just got the 3 for Christmas and am disappointed. There is no more battery to make it portable and you have to find the remote to turn up or down the volume, unlike last model with the integrated buttons. This model seems like a step back to me

Very Disappointing compared to previous models

Awesome sound as before............ Lacking lithium battery with previous model, so must be plugged into AC, which I loved before. Also no volume control like previous unit. No carrying case with product like previous unit and in this day and age can we add blue tooth to the unit!!!! Overall great sound but lacking the simple things that made previous unit a top seller!

Thank you for taking the time to let us know the features you would like to have in your Bose speaker.
We are glad you like the sound quality as we take a lot of pride in that. Based on your description of the previous product you owned, it appears that you had a SoundDock Portable. We appreciate your loyalty to the Bose sound.
We would recommend that you check out our SoundLink Bluetooth Speaker III as an alternative. It has a built-in battery for portability, works wirelessly with Bluetooth technology, and features an optional cover with a similar idea to the optional case for your prior Bose speaker.
Here is the link to the page for that product:

Thought I was Buying a portable unit

I purchased a Bose SoundDock portable digital music system several years ago and love it. I wanted another to keep at our cabin. The one I have has a great rechargeable battery (lasts forever) or you can keep plugged in. This way, I could carry it outside and down to our dock. My current units "plug-in" section rotates inward, making transport easy. There are volume "touch" buttons on the side or you can use the remote. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that Bose would downgrade the features to what they are offering now. While the Bose sound is still awesome, I hate the unit because it is not portable-it's not what I need or want. Completely my error for not noticing before buying.

Unable to adjust volume with remote using Auxilia.

Unable to adjust volume with remote using Auxiliary.
This missing option seems to be an oversight and would enhance its features without a great deal of work.
Also, the remote is unable to move selection of music from one album to another, another oversight it seems. Only works on a single playlist, unable to move to another playlist. Works best when using on a full list of all songs.
The sound quality is good but would be enhanced with ability to adjust Base/Treble as base is quite strong when using auxiliary for TV. Can't adjust volume using auxiliary either.
This sound dock is essentially a hands-on device. Remote not so great. Overall the remote is very limited in its use.

Do not support Iphone 6 and many other apps.

To me, Bose name is enough and I wanted this product for long which fits my living room.
I bought this product before Iphone 6 was launched. I went to bose Store, heard the sound and bought it.
Though Apple IPod 6th Gen and Apple Iphone 6 has same inputs for docking still IPhone 6 do not play on this docking system.
Also, it only supports Itunes and don't support supports apps like Pandora, iHeart Radio etc..
