Got the chance to see this movie in the theater and fell in love with it immediately. Anyone looking for a great space-based sci-fi film, look no further.
What's great about it: Great sci-fi movie
What's not so great: The old west influence was odd

By itself, Serenity is a great sci-fi movie, great special effects, with a unique story and interesting characters. If you like sci-fi, and you value a honest to goodness good film...Serenity is for you.
I would highly recommend watching Firefly first, the TV show Serenity is based on. This will help you understand and appreciate the movie on a different level.
Regardless. Serenity is a great movie.
What's great about it: Great Special Effects, Unique story and characters.
What's not so great: Easier to understand and appreciate if you have watched "Firefly" first.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Must have for sci fi fans, and western fans

This movie was awesome, i never got the chance to see it in theaters, the theatrical run was short lived sad to say. I saw the movie on tv, and i loved it. I later learned that it had a tv series behind it. The writing is so well done you wouldn't notice at first. I got a chance to borrow the series from a friend and i fell even more in love with this franchise, if that were possible. The series is also a good choice and available at best buy, conveniently, which is where i later picked up my own copy. The effects and story are excellent. By all means enjoy this future sci fi western... thing... seriously, this is an excellent choice for any action or sci fi fan. That reminds me, the fight and battle scenes were excellent too.
What's great about it: A Sci Fi Western, like Han Solo meets David Carridine
What's not so great: I wish i got into this movie and series sooner.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent sci fi film!! If your a sci fi fan you will enjoy this movie a lo!! The battle scenes are great!!

One of the Best Movies Ever!!!

This is without a doubt one of the 5 best movies I have ever seen. It is based off of the televisions show Firefly, which is also amazing. This movie has a great story, wonderful characters, and a super hot chick whohas incredible combat skills. I strongly recommend it. 6 out of 5.

Best Purchase Ever

Not really, but I can't think of a different review title and the example title just seemed to work in a pinch.
Based on the canceled TV show "Firefly", Serenity carries on Joss Whedon's legacy of space westerns and does an admirable job. The unfortunate deaths of a few characters subtract from the enjoyment of the film, but such is life. Unfortunate deaths. It's a good movie and I think people can enjoy it even if they haven't seen the show.
I would recommend this to a friend!
