Great TV, disappointing Issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this TV for Christmas back in 2013 and I have loved every minute of it since, until... Last year, it all of a sudden started having issues with the screen going black. This continued and one day it would not come back on. I sent it in for service with my warranty company and got it back. It was great for about another month and then.. Duh duh duh.. It started again. I contacted my warranty company again but this time fixing isn't an option. Apparently, this is a recurring issue for this model TV and actually it's not even manufactured anymore. Now, I have to choose whether to take the money for the TV or receive one of the same caliber. Kinda sucks, I really miss my LG!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible sound and can't add speakers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even using "Clearvoice" we can't understand what anybody's saying on the TV. Seems like sound is one of the two main functions of a TV, so this one fails 50%.

I bought this TV about three years ago and never had an issue with it. Still runs great. I love this TV even though I think it's about that time I upgrade to an LG 4K TV. Definitely recommend this TV for anyone who is looking for a nice 42".

Great picture; Audio, not so much

I am very much enjoying this TV after 3 weeks of viewing. The picture quality and settings are excellent, and the menus, simple. The built-in audio is pretty poor, however, and that has required some significant adjustment for the set this unit is replacing. For watching the news, it's fine, but for any other viewing, I run the sound through my AV receiver, which sadly, wipes out any benefit to be gained from the energy efficiency provided by the LCD-LED screen. I would not recommend this unit if it is to be "stand alone."
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

PICTURE WENT OUT.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this TV on 11/29/2013 and the picture went black on 1/08/2016. (still has audio) Trying now to figure out if it can be fixed and at what cost.

COMPARED TO OTHER 42 INCH LED SETS, THIS TV IN MY OPINION WHILE SOUND QUALITY COULD BE IMPROVED, OVERALL PICTURE IS BETTER THAN MORE EXPENSIVE 42" SETS IN THIS CATEGORY. ALSO. VIEWING BLUE RAY MOVIES IS EXCEPTIONAL.

Burned out

Had issues out of box and had to have tech out 3 times. He replaced almost everything on the tv and it finally worked. LED's burned out after 3 years. Luckily was able to replace with LED's ordered online. 2 stars because it worked for 3 years but I expect more from LG.
