It's flexible in any direction for easy installation and set up at any angle or distance from the windshield or from the driver.
I like to keep it on the windshield whether I have anything mounted or not, but if I don't, it will rattle so bad it is annoying.

Great mounting bracket.

This is the second mounting bracket I've purchased for my cell phone and GPS unit. The first one was very hard to use, adjust and keep attached to the windshield and finally broke. This one is awesome. The suction cup lever attachment unit is far superior to any I've ever used. So is the way the unit adjusts to different size objects. If the Garmin holder in my wife's car breaks, I will get another one of these.
