What's great about it: Music, lyrics, ARTWORK
What's not so great: Expensive after purchase
-This was my first Tool cd. I had sampled a couple of tracks (The Pot, Jambi) and really liked them.
-1st time listening to the cd I liked it. 2nd time liked it more. 3rd time loved it. 4th,5th,6th......50th.....
-Song layout is great. Songs blend well with the next making the cd feel like a whole instead of 11 individual tracks. Kinda like watching a movie or reading a book. The 1st song Vicarious does a good job at setting the mood for the rest of the cd. There are a couple of 'slow spots' in the cd but nothing major.
-Jambi is awesome. Would be all over the radio if it wasn't so long.
-The Pot cost me well over $2000. My sound system just wouldn't do it justice. New receiver, new sub, new speakers.....(BB loves me)
-The artwork is really really cool. It alone is almost worth the money I paid.
-10,000 Days made me a Tool fan. I have since purchased 3 more Tool cds (more $). I wish I had bought this sooner.

What's great about it: It's Tool being tool
What's not so great: Nothing really
In terms of sound, this is Tool's densest album. That's probablly because of the new engineer they used. As with switching the to a new engineer tool manages not only to progress their music on this album, but also solidfy everything they have done previously. If you like albums that take some time to get into, lyrics that actually carry meaning, and some pretty funny moments, then you should get this album.

What's great about it: Music is wonderful.
I ended up getting this CD after hearing 'The Pot' on the radio, and I'm glad that I got it. Everything about this CD is wonderful - the lyrics, emotion, and especially the music. You can tell they put all their energy into their music. This was my first Tool CD, but I'm definitely going to get others.

What's great about it: Can listen to it all the way through; hear something new each time
What's not so great: a little heavy on non-musical tracks
Like all tool CDs, I had to listen to this one quite a bit before it grew on me.
It's not a headbanging thrashing album like they produced when they were a younger band. No, expect more of a Euro
"experience" based type of CD, that will take you through a fountain of emotions and feelings.
Best experienced with a nice set of headphones and a quiet room.
The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is I don't think it was quite as well composed as lateralus.

What's great about it: nice flow
What's not so great: none
The lyrics of wings & 10,000 days are amazing. Maynard tells the story of his mom and the pain she was in during her life. The entire CD is great. Each song flows seamlessly into the next.
