I absolutely love this lens. So much better than a kit lens for sure. Even though it is refurbished it's perfect it works just like a brand new lens. It will work great for weddings.

My first and only L lens, this zoom exceeds my expectations, amazingly sharp at all apertures. It fits into my smallish camera bag, and is rather light. Minor distortion at the extreme ends is easily dealt with in processing software. Unless you have an EG-D screen with lines (5D and 6D SLRs), or call up the "level" in Live View, frame a little large, so that you don't lose image area cropping after straightening your horizon.

Great lens. Pictures are crisp and clear. Easy to set up and use. The weight is no too heavy for that long shot.

Extraordinary Lens

I have been a member of the Canon system for over 25 years. My first purchase was the Canon A1 camera. I graduated to the excellent Canon F1 and shot film with FD primes for years. For some time now, I have been a member of the digital age. I have always compared my current lenses to the old FD line. I recently purchased the new 70-200 f/4 IS USM L lens and have repeatedly been blown away by it's image quality, rugged design and super fast ultrasonic focusing ability. This lens delivers sharp, contrast rich images on a routine basis. The image stabilization is an excellent addition to this powerhouse product. It will provide you with the ability to capture your images at an incredible four stop advantage. It is much lighter and in my opinion sharper than it's brother 2.8 version. If your an action sports photographer go with the 2.8 version. Everyone else run to your nearest Canon authorized dealer and purchase this lens. You will not be disappointing. I am Proud to be a member of the Canon 70-200 f/4 IS USM L lens family, this lens is worth it's weight in Gold.
Pros: Fast auto-focus, Superior build quality, Super-sharp images, creme de le crop

I'm new to DSLR cameras & I was apprehensive buying a lens that costs more than some peoples cars(including ones I've owned). After reading 100's of reviews & researching other lenses I decided on this one. Let's just say that in 15min I took such incredible pictures of my daughter I looked & felt like a pro. that I can't think of a reason not to buy this lens. It's a plus that for the $ you pay that Canon includes a pouch & a hood with the lens. The Bokeh it produces while making your subject pop with such detail, color, & clarity will make you grin with satisfaction. I debated between this one & the non- IS version & am glad I bought this one. The IS is a helper for sure. AF is fast ! It can keep up with a 2 year old, which in my opinion are more action packed than any sport.
Pros: Super-sharp images, Superior build quality, Fast auto-focus, looks cool on your camera, comes with pouch & hood

Unbelievable

I've never owned an L lens until this one. I've had a lot of non-L lenses that I thought were good enough until this lens. I've had it for a month and I haven't taken it off my 40D yet. This lens really delivers the kind of color reproduction and sharpness that make it worthy of the L label. The focus is incredibly fast and the IS is the most effective I've used. Worth every penny. I was on the fence about this lens or the f/2.8 IS version, but the f/4 is almost half the weight and smaller, and even sharper.
Pros: Super-sharp images, Superior build quality, Fast auto-focus
Cons: none

I have this lens for over 6 months now and never been disappointed. The pictures are very sharp. Beautiful. There were times when I get blurry pictures but it's I who’s at fault. 99% of the time, I shoot available light – both indoor and outdoor. I wish to have the f2.8L version. I loved it but because of the weight which is a big factor for me – decided to reject it. I am not a big person and I agonized between getting the f/2.8L or the f/4L. So I rented the 2.8L. Carried it with me for one day. Carrying it around was not that big deal (although my neck hurts since I have the camera strap around my neck) – but shooting with one arm cradling without support, tires me easily (the weight of this baby alone is equivalent to the camera body I was using with hand grip attached, 2 batteries and the f/4L IS). Since then, I have never looked back….
Pros: fast auto-focus super-sharp images superior buil
