Initially hesitated to even bother transporting to my apartment based on experiences with all prior shampoo machines of which there have been many.... Within the first pass on a section of carpet Hoover has sold me on one once i return this one to my parents. I am almost excited to continue shampooing a carpet. If a carpet shampooer is something you need then your quest shopping for one should now be completed BUY THIS ONE.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This carpet cleaner works the best. Even better than rental models. The new feature of the ability to clean hard floors is intriguing. I haven't tried it yet. The only Reno for 4 stars is the durability of these cleaners. I had an earlier model that lasted about 5 years. Not bad after heavy use, but it did require some minor repairs earl on. A locking tab for the pickup tank broke. The clean water tank and broke and had to be replaced. That one had been redesigned and was replaced for free. In the end, a pump solenoid inside broke, so I chucked it and got another. We have four (too many) pets, and used the heck out of it. I'd say more than normal
What's great about it: Cleans very well
What's not so great: We'll see if durability has improved

I had my third bissell steam cleaner die a horrible death, so I decided to purchase a hoover.
Overall, this is the absolute best purchase I made - very sturdy construction. Everything came out much cleaner than with the bissell. An added advantage is that every part - including the brushes can be easily removed and replaced.
The only negatives I have, the water tank doesn't fit in quite as well as I would like. It needs to click into place and if it doesn't, water leaks out. Also, the noise level is a bit high.
What's great about it: Cleans extremely well
What's not so great: Poor fitting water tank, very noisy
I would recommend this to a friend!

This unit was delivered within days of order. It appears to clean like crazy from the amount of sand, dirt and crude in the dirty water tank. Looks like you need to be very careful handling the unit because of the light weight plastic parts used for the accessories hanger.
What's great about it: Great suction, great brushes, easy to use/fill/empty
What's not so great: light weight plastic parts

Excelent Cleaner

The modular construction makes it a lot easier to take apart and clean debris. One of the things about this Hoover and other Hoovers is the suction and it does suck-up a lot of the moisture leaving the carpets dryer when done. This allows the overall carpet to dry faster and does not leave as much water trapped in the carpet to soak into the padding or the sub floor. Lots of attachments as well.
My only complaint is it is not practical to leave the attachment assembly connected while using the cleaner as it falls off easily and is cumbersome. However it is easily removed and can be set aside while cleaning. It is also designed to be hung from a coat hanger to allow the hose to dry so there is some benefit to that.
Over all an excellent cleaner.

Okay product but not great

The Hoover can clean but I would not buy again. To hard to find parts. When you do find them they are very expensive when compairing to the total cost of the machine. Its better to just buy another one. After awhile, the tanks that hold the water and cleaning solutions gaskets leaks like crazy at the bottom and I don't leave liquids in the tanks when not in use. I have bought two replacement buckets so far. To buy this part it is approx. $45 to $50 dollars plus shipping! Maybe I just get the lemons. Not sure. I like Hoover but I would not buy another machine until they change the design to the bucket part that holds the water and solution.
Otherwise, the machine is nice. It cleans just like any other system would if you use the right solutions.
What's great about it: Can clean if using the right cleaners
What's not so great: CAN NOT FIND PARTS EASILY
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had my cleaner for almost 2 years. It is excellent at cleaning carpets, especially stains. However; it is made of very poor plastic. On the back where you wrap up the cord it is brittle and breaking. I have to remove the hose completely to keep it from falling off the unit. I'm very disappointed in the durablity of this unit and would not buy another one.
What's great about it: cleans well
What's not so great: poor construction
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had originally purchased the 7412-900 model, because all I needed was a carpet cleaner but when it arrived broken I had to travel to my local store and ended up purchasing a more expensive model - the all terrain cleaner - 7452-900. Well I used it immediately on my living room carpet and I must say I'm pleased. THERE ACTUALLY WAS NO STEAM but the heat from the motor probably helped in leaving the carpet much cleaner and drier than I expected. I,m especially clean with the way the high traffic areas looked afterwards, the carpet got a new life. I will continue to use it and if there 're any surprises I will update.
What's great about it: cleans very well and dries fast.
What's not so great: Had to pay a lot more than I wanted to and spend too much time to and from local store.Too much plastics.
I would recommend this to a friend!
