I have this set on top of the hutch on my computer desk above the 23" Samsung computer monitor (which I adore) so the viewing angle is a bit off for the default settings. At first I was a little disappointed with the picture quality until I discovered all the adjustments and settings that let you customize the picture. Take your time adjusting this set. You won't be disappointed.
The one thing this TV is is unforgiving of the signal driving it. In my case it's Comcast cable. If the program is produced or transmitted poorly that's what you'll see. If the program is shot well and the signal is optimal then you'll get an absolutely beautiful picture.
I have not tried playing any DVDs or BluRays through the HDMI ports nor the USB port. I imagine that it will behave the same way as with cable or broadcast TV.
The sound is adequate, but then I never expected it to be all that good.
Over all it's an excellent TV as far as my situation is concerned.
Very good product which has a valuable use where small spaces do not allow larger screen sizes. It is obviously in demand since was back ordered by several sellers. Unfortunately the written documentation was poor: 3 separate documents on setting up (simple quick start which was useless; another quick start that was of little value other than showing the correct remote control;and finally a 16 page LED TV User Manual which was printed on a SINGLE PAPER SHEET with print so small it was difficult to read, let alone understand. It also contained instructions for all Series4 and 5 Samsung sets (4000,4050, 5000 and 5050) features making it very difficult to follow. I would strongly recommend that you provide a separate BOOKLET for each model TV showing specific start up DIRECTIONS AND FEATURES that pertain to that set. Type face needs to be larger and multiple pages should be used. Booklets should be written in a much more LOGICAL sequence showing a variety of signal sources and hookups. Things like specifications, safety instructions and warranty information should be separate from start up and features sections. In addition, wording was poorly written regarding type of TV service being used (antenna, air, cable provider, satellite provider, etc. Very little information is given on the use of Coaxial RF hookups and you should realize that millions of users of both roof antenna and satellite services use this old fashioned connection.
After struggling for several hours, I contacted one of your phone reps who was very helpful and also directed me to several printouts from the Samsung Troubleshooting Guide. Within a short time the set was working. All is well that ends well, but time could have been saved with better written documentation that I received with the set.
Pros: Realistic color, Bright display, Lightweight, good choice for small space requirements.
