This game is fun a little bit at a time, but starts to get boring very easily...considering it is one of the top rated games on the wii, i was disappointed, but it is still a decent game

I bought this to play with my 6 year old son. I should have done more research.
While I applaud the interesting / creative level choices, I mostly found myself confused by the game play. I wasn't clear why my characters kept changing or who I would be controlling next.
In addition, some of the scenery is distracting and the characters are sometimes difficult to see. I'm not an old man, and I play this game on a 51 inch screen but the characters are not prominently displayed. This is simply too much going during game play to truly enjoy.

What's great about it: Interesting Levels
What's not so great: Confusing Game Play, Small Screen

With a little more than a year of hype about this upcoming title I was expecting this game to be the "must have" Wii game for 08, I hate to confess that I was dissapointed with this game. It's really the same game as Super Smash Bros. Melee with different backdrops to play in; but in all fairness there is not too much they can do with platform fighting games except to add some new characters and fighting environments. I'm no hardcore gamer by any means, but it seems that all the next-gen consoles are only offering up hokey re-makes of previous titles (sans Zelda: The Twilight Princess). I'm in my late 20's and SSBB looks more like child's play than ever and furthers my belief that the Wii is nothing more than a Gamecube with a magical controller. Until the next blockbuster or Zelda comes out for the Wii, I will wait a little while longer for Nintendo to release games that appeal to a slightly older fanbase.
What's great about it: Another game for the family
What's not so great: Felt like a SSB Melee Expansion Pack than the "next best thing"

This game is not that great. I'll admit that its fun to play for a few hours, but then...it just gets extremely repetitive. Besides a few extra characters and levels, it is pretty much the same as melee. The graphics are good, but this game probably could have been released on the gamecube. In terms of gameplay, its the same. You essentially battle in a small, confined area. All in all, this game is not that great. Please don't ruin your life by sitting in front of your television for hours and/or days playing this game.
What's great about it: Lots of Characters
What's not so great: Repetitive, graphics nothing to brag about, identical levels to previous smash bros.
