I am new to muse. I first heard "Knight's of Cydonia" while playing guitar hero... once I was able to, that is. I woke up to the radio one morning and found out that it was them who sang "Starlight". After hearing these two fantastic songs, I made it my mission to find out more. When I picked up their CD, I was blown away by what was on it. This song has a driving force to it that not many other CD's contain. His vocals are superb and seem almost U2'ish presented in a Queen'ish style. It may sound a little like those two bands but they are a band all their own. Their style is unique with the instrumentals that they use and their lyrics, which can be bizarre at times. The songs are great for entertaining because of the constant instrumental sounds and melodic vocals that are easy to find the beat and dance to. After browsing their past records on various sites, this one stands out the most as the one I personally like best. I do enjoy their other songs from previous CD's and will probably buy them eventually, but for the time being, this one has really struck a chord with me and I would highly recommend it, it'll be like a revelation to you.
What's great about it: Great Driving Album - Good For Parties & Dance (Lyrical & Melodic)

Muse again proves that they are one of the most creative bands in the world. Not only is this album different than what other artists are putting out, it's different than what Muse has done before. This album provides a great range of sounds all centered on rock. Supermassive Black Hole and Map of the Problematique contain dance beats, Knights of Cydonia brings back memories of Queen, and Starlight perfectly encompasses what pop music should be.

This is my favorite Muse album. The music is creative and inspiring and expresses the fullness of life in all of its excitement and love as well as pain and despair. Knights of Cydonia and Starlight are the most well-known songs from this album, but the rest are great too. Well worth the buy!

Muse have been headlining stadium shows in Europe for years, and with Black Holes and Revelations, they attempt to do the same in the States. Their sound mixes elements of Bends-era Radiohead with the more bombastic parts of Queen and U2. Make no mistake, Muse are not a Radiohead rip-off. They have forged their own sound, particularly on this album. The album begins with the bleak, foreboding Take a Bow, with an aching vocal performance by Matthew Bellamy. Other highlights include the Depeche Mode-esque Map of the Problematique, the anthemic Starlight, and the gorgeous choral elegy Soldier's Poem. Muse should also be seen live at all costs. A very consistent and powerful album, one of the best of 2006.

Muse has a different sound that is often imitated in more recent years. This CD doesn't disappoint, and hopefully will leave new listeners wanting more and to seek out older CDs.

Overall, Black Holes and Revelations is a great album for any rock fans. Although all of the songs are great, there are only eleven, and for thirteen dollars, I would expect maybe a few more songs. It makes a great addition to any ipod.
What's great about it: Good price, all songs are great.
